We will go over as much as possible today with the time left over because of this mornings re-airing.
It all sucks and let's get ready for tears.
Sweet, delicious, succulent tears.

China's high-speed revolution has transfomed the country's economy. Passengers and goods now move vast distances in a matter of hours. Does the US have the will and investment, to mirror China's successful high-speed rail experiment? Join us as we look at what the US can learn about investing in high-speed rail.
I recently heard a good joke, allow me to share it with you. What do you call a person that doesn't take a civil service test but still works for the govenment? Answer; a Taxpayer.
So with that in mind, how do we approach the thousands of illegals streaming across the southern border, the millions of dollars handed out to people that have no business getting it. Where do we draw the line between those that produce and can enjoy the fruits of their labor and those that take more and more. Have we come close to the fault line defined by our abilities and our needs?
Join me today to discuss the pressing matters of American and International Policy, and how we can keep or beloved nation from becoming a failed experiment in Human Freedom.

SHOW NOTES: What is a Stereotype?"Stereotypes are widely held cultural beliefs that are resistant to change."
(Block, Koch, Liberman, Merriweather, & Roberson, 2011)
What is Stereotype Threat?
“The phenomenon known as “stereotype threat.” Members of groups believed to be academically inferior — African-American and Latino students enrolled in college, or female students in math and science courses — score much lower on tests when reminded beforehand of their race or gender. […] found that black students performed comparably with white students when told that the test they were taking was “a laboratory problem-solving task.” Black students scored much lower, however, when they were instructed that the test was meant to measure their intellectual ability. In effect, the prospect of social evaluation suppressed these students’ intelligence.”
Minorities aren’t the only ones vulnerable to stereotype threat. We all are. A group of people notably confident about their mathematical abilities — white male math and engineering majors who received high scores on the math portion of the SAT — did worse on a math test when told that the experiment was intended to investigate “why Asians appear to outperform other students on tests of math ability.” (PAUL, 2012)

Masonic Companion started intending to bring thoughtful conversation to freemasons whereever they be.
There is so much about Craft freemasonry that is not understood. Society and science evolved in antient cultures; China, Mesopotamia, Persia and eventually into Europe,Britain. In Britain, they executed the king hoping to end subjugation, not suspecting beheading Charles would leave a leadership vaccum. History has not been kind to the civilian ruler Cromwell as people realized monarchy defined could define a nation and yet be under civil control. This didn't protect the French Kings until they were stopped by revolution. It was a heady atmosphere in the day; Church nor King no longer determined truth. Science and philosophy came out of the attic and helped define humanism.
You would think 21st century thinkers would be rid of it but we are still plagued by the offshoots of 19th Darwinian theory; terribly distorted, into racist and imperialist interests. Herbert Spenser, pulled Darwins theory apart to give us a simplistic, incomplete versions still popular today; social darwinism and survival of the fittest but no one cares. We can't help but notice the basis of capitalism in this; using the moral highground of survival vs extinction to sanitize power; an interesting experiment but one that fails to deliver on the trickle down promise.
How could we possibly claim thoughts so forceful could be repressed by a philosophical barrier? I refuse to accept that freemasonry espouses escapism. Our landmarks reveal so much about us, particularly that we exist to promote the common good. Are we about surviving unfairness or working toward the day when the common good becomes is more than a landmark?
Whether you've seen the show or not, we'll bring you up to date and tell you what we think about it too. It's a social "experiment" that allows professionals to use their expertise to best match people for love, and they meet for the first time at the alter. Which way do you think the Grown Zone will fall on this one?
Well join us to find out where we fall and why. This is sure to give you food for thought if you're preparing for lasting love.

How many times have you heard soundbites on the evening news and recognized that this is only the tip of the iceberg of a story? Have you wanted to dig deeper?
Or conversely, have you watched a news channel that challenged what you thought was true about a story? And immediately dismissed it as spin?
The Coffee Party Newsroom Team has embarked on an exciting experiment. How can we, as citizen journalists, report a 360 degree spectrum of stakeholder perspective on topics of interest to us? And challenge our own thinking about what is “true” and “fact.”
Today, we interview Newsroom Volunteer, Marianne Castiglia about this exciting new experiment and how other people can participate.
