Storing food for sustainability when times get hard!

    in Education

The Prepared Canadian on American Preppers Radio! Saturday *7:00pm/Est *6:00pm/Ct *5:00pm/Mt *4:00pm/Pt Live Listen and Chat go to: http://prepperbroadcasting.com/ Every prepper should be raising at least some of their own food.  Be it for stockpiling now, or as a primary food source when at all goes down, the practice of feeding yourself just makes sense.  But it isn’t as simple as stocking up on seeds and dropping them in the ground.  Believe it or not, growing your own food takes a lot of thought and planning. On this week’s episode of The Prepared Canadian I’ll discuss some of the things you should be considering for your home food production needs such as what characteristics to look for, sustainability of your product, and of course, making your food production storable. I’ll have some tips for replacing hard to produce foods such as dairy, offer alternatives to some hard to come by items like citrus, and a two layered source of protein.

Bi-directional meter, TVA, movie 'do you believe'

    in Lifestyle

Recently, I decided to put my grid tie inverter for sale - i did this because if i have no way of storing the energy, then I have to be home or set something to be consuming power while the sun is shining brightly, this is because if u dont have a 'bi-directional meter' - the power company charges you (adds to your bill) the energy you put into the grid !!!

Article by a man in Tenesse and his high level of resistance in trying to sell power back to the utility or grid tie to reduce his noted use of power:

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is a federally owned corporation in the United States created by congressional charter in May 1933

Coincidentally,  - in 1933, the federal government of the US declared bankrupty !!  (coincidence isnt kosher, no i'm not jewish, but there is little to no coincidence or randomness -- and it has been said that anything that happens in a big government public release is well planned )

The Dr. Pat Show-Talk Radio to Thrive By!

    in Entertainment

The Dr. Pat Show: God Within - The Day God's Train Stopped with Author Patti Conklin. Patti Conklin believes that our words have more of an impact on our lives than we realize. They manifest within our bodies the second they are thought or spoken, storing up over a lifetime through vibrations. These words come with an emotional attachment and can create physical blockages in our energy flow, creating illness or disease. In her book, God Within: The Day God's Train Stopped, Patti Conklin describes how these buildups have occurred, what they mean, and how to break them down and prevent them altogether.

The Dr. Pat Show: The Children of Now Evolution with Author Dr. Meg Blackburn Losey.  For the past few years, a new kind of highly intelligent, sensory-expanded children have been joining our population. They are a clear break from the continuity of past generations…and many times their minds are leaps ahead of ours! However, they perceive the world differently than we do, they often see and hear what we do not, and they react in what would be to us "unfathomable" ways. These Children of Now need a whole new approach to find their rightful place in our world today. They also help in adjusting and thriving in the world as it exists, a world which they are helping to change. And now help is on the way with Meg Blackburn Losey's remarkable new book The Children of Now Evolution, a followup to her bestselling book The Children of Now.

    Food storage & survivalism misunderstood!

    Food storage & survivalism misunderstood!

Food storage and the concept of survivalism or prepping is sensationalized and largely misunderstood.  Many tend to hear survivalist and at once envision a guy sitting on a ten year supply of military rations in a basement or bunker somewhere.  This image is hyped by media who simply wish to sell a story and worse is made up of journalists that live in a bubble of  “the government will fix our problems”.  The reality is that the bunker approach of military rations is both inaccurate and impractical.

Listen in as we give you 6 reasons and talk about why storing food is practical even if society never collapses

There's hardly a prepper around who doesn't know how to store beans, rice, oatmeal, salt, and other long term storage essentials, but there's one food group that can be problematic to store, and often leaves us scratching our head.  Its fats!  Knowing how to store fats effectively is absolutely essential to our long-term plan. How can we store fat, a food that has a relatively short shelf life, so that it tastes good, and is safe to eat years after we place it on the shelf in our long-term food storage?  Join Katzcradul as she reveals some strategies for selecting and storing fats long-term.  Some of her ideas are unconventional, but have proven effective for her family.  Join her Thursday night, at 8 p.m. central.

The women of ‘The Homestead Honey Hour’ have many things in common. What initially drew them together was they each had a YouTube channel, where they discussed homesteading, preparedness, and self-sufficiency.  They have partnered on Prepper Broadcasting Network because they see an opportunity to share their skills and abilities with many, like themselves, who are preparing for whatever the future brings.

Compensatory Strategies for Working with Memory on Recovery Now

    in Health

Dr Maria is back in the house!

The term memory storage refers to the work of the system that stores information for use later on—your system for long-term learning and recall. Material from working memory is put into storage by this system. There are many sub-systems for storing different kinds of information. After an injury, memory usually makes weaker traces, making the stored information unreliable. Important information should always be saved in a more permanent medium such as taking notes. Holding out hope to get your pre-injury memory storage back leads to disappointment rather than recovery. The key to memory recovery is metamemory—knowledge of your own memory abilities and deficits. Metamemory lets you plan out ways to cope with your memory deficits. - Dr. Larry Schutz
