Americans across the country must work together to stop the quadruple taxation and foreign control of our Interstate Highway System. We must not allow our national highway infrastructure to be sold-off to foreign corporations like Cintra.

The Tolling of Interstate 4 is being done with "Public Private Partnerships".
Public Private Partnerships violate the Florida State Constitution. Public Private Partnerships are the collusion of government and the private sector (see below). Federal funding is being used for I-4 and the Wekiva Parkway Toll Road.
Florida SR 408 Toll Taxes equate to a $2.00+ gallon gas tax. Toll taxes equate to highway robbery, AND they increase our cost of living and harm our national security. The Interstate Highway system was designed as part of our national defense and here it is being sold off. We must unite and stop this. "Dwight D. "DON'T STOP NOW"
"The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground". (EXODUS 14; 15-16)

Tonight's special guest is Emily Samuelson, Ph.D., from Baltimore, Maryland, of the Soaring Project. A psychologist who specializes in treating trauma, she's also a survivor of incest in her childhood and has written a book about her experience, "Soaring Above the Ashes: Thriving After Childhood Sexual Abuse." She tells me, "Somewhere in my childhood, I boxed up the memories and lost my connection to the truth of what happened to me. It wasn't until I was 39 years old that my memories broke through. This was after a betrayal when my daughter was 5 weeks old, and separation and eventual divorce 6 months later; a breast cancer scare; a job where I was a scapegoat; and news that my mother had two different kinds of cancer. That's what it took to break me open." She goes on, "I got PTSD and lived in a nightmare of flashbacks for many months. I worked on healing for the next 20 years." Her book, "Soaring Above the Ashes," has stories of survivors based on face-to-face interviews from all over the country. Each story is accompanied by a black and white portrait. "The story of my healing journey is woven between the chapters, Emily explains. "Although I am now thriving, I continue to work on becoming more whole, my deepest wish."
FACT.....I-4 Transformation is NOT about relieving gridlock and improving transportation. It is all about political money for the special interest cronies, higher taxes and higher cost of living for working Americans
I-4 Tolls Violate Florida Constitution

Alternative Funding for Transportation
Alternative sources of funding – if needed. The following sources of highway revenues would have no new collection costs associated with them and do not limit access to the most efficient highways.
Increase gas tax. Compare the increased revenues of a 2¢ per gallon vs. 2¢ toll tax.
Annual Motor Vehicle Registration Fee/Tax. A once a year flat “highway tax” of $5.00 for every registered vehicle. Calculate the net increase in highway revenues for a onetime annual fee/tax.
Tourist tax allocation. Tourism has a major impact on traffic and vice-versa. Allocate a portion (5%) of the tourism tax revenues to the highway fund. This also promotes tourism by making travel easier and less expensive for the tourist.
Rental car tax allocation. Rental cars have a major impact on traffic. Allocate a portion (5%) of the taxes assessed to rental cars to the highway fund.
A Portion of state/local sales tax should be allocated to transportation. The state/local economy drives sales tax revenues. Transportation of people and goods & services has a significant impact on local sales activity. Thus, an impact on sales tax revenues.

SPECIAL TOPIC Night - "Child Abuse, Trauma and 12-Step Recovery" - STEP 1 (and we'll include a bit about TRADITION 1) - SCAN host Bill Murray will be joined by special guest co-host Rivka Edery, MSW, LCSW, from NYC, author of the book “Trauma and Transformation: A 12-Step Guide." Bill founded the recently launched Adult Survivors of Child Abuse Anonymous (ASCAA). Together they will lead tonight's discussion on STEP 1: "We admitted we were powerless over the abuse and trauma of our youth -- that our lives had become unmanageable." The survivor's decision to begin a process of healing begins with the admission of what happened to them. This involves working through the defenses employed to shun from consciousness the excruciatingly painful memories of the traumatic events. Having passed through this phase of remembering (in any way possible), the acceptance of the truth of the traumatic experience moves the survivor towards resolution. Thus begins the creation of an internal, healing space for the survivor to feel what remained frozen in time, banished and unwelcome in consciousness. ~~ A child abuse survivor herself, Rivka Edery is grateful for the spiritual recovery she found in the 12 Steps of AA. She's been active in the 12 Step community for over 17 years. Bill Murray credits his 30 plus years of recovery to the spiritual power of the 12 Step program, too. ~~ Join us every two weeks to further examine a 12 Step approach to recovery from abuse. Next show we'll address STEP 2 & TRADITION 2. ~~ Please see our web page at: www.NAASCA.org/Trauma-12Step or write to Rivka at: firstname.lastname@example.org

Look at how cool my brand is” Facebook posts do not market an experience that can connect with consumers. OUTREACH MARKETING: The most effective way to do this is to market and authentic experience, not your brand.
We’re talking BRANDING & SOCIAL MEDIA – and effective ways to succeed in these areas.

Tonight's special guest is Polly Moore from Atlanta, Georgia, a returning NAASCA family member. Polly is the Executive Administrative Assistant of Angela Williams, Founder of VOICE Today, a non-profit organization whose mission is to break the cycle and silence of child sexual abuse through awareness, prevention, and healing programs. She began volunteering with VOICE Today on July 17, 2012, the day after she broke her silence. She'd found her voice at VOICE Today's support group the night before. Polly grew up with six siblings in Mobile, Alabama, but was only 8 years old when her father died of lung cancer. Soon two neighborhood boys began to molest her, friends of her older twin brothers. A couple of years later she was assaulted by another neighbor and later by her older brother. She was able to break away from the abuse at the age of twelve, but was by then deep in the darkness of isolation. Polly is now a mother and grandmother, and has lived in Atlanta for the past 15 years. She is contemplating returning to finish her final year at Western Carolina University where she majored in Accounting, and has become a devoted advocate for adult survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. Polly says she will forever continue to help fellow adult survivors find their voice and welcome their healing through the working of Angela Williams and VOICE Today.
My Take On It - My daily take on a random topic.
The news stories of young Black men being killed by police will continue to come. This story line is simply too enticing for the media to let go. Sure these stories need to be told but what is the motive and what is the expected outcome of these stories?
It seems as if these stories are cherry picked and told for the sole purpose of creating a buzz. In affect they simply pour salt in the wounds of Blacks and Whites alike. These stories are told with the seeming end gole of just having a story to tell to cause discord and unrest.
There is an injustice going on here far beyond of any real or percieved injustice to the dead individual involved. When we see these stories we all pick a side without any real knowledge of the facts. We jump to judgement of innocence or guilt faster than the judgement of the Bush Gore Election of 2000.
We all have decided what side we are on and rush to defend Trayvon Martin because of the color of his skin. We rush to defend the Baltimore PD because Freddie Gray was simply a known thug.
All of our decisions have been preprogrammed once we simply see a head line or from the opening remark of a "Breaking News" story. Do we really ever see any real justice? What kind of good should we all be expecting?
What about instead of my side "winning" the argument we started to actually realize "hope and change"? I mean in a way that benefits us all. What about if we as people of color actively engaged the police instead of avoiding them? ...
