Everybody has a plan for something. There's a plan to solve every social ill we currently face, a plan for every personal struggle we are going through, and a plan to address an issue in a relationship. At some point, the planning has to stop and the action has to take place. Everyone knows this but yet most of us struggle with it. Today on air we discuss why planning is the most crucial step in your success and how planning may actually be holding you back.
Are you one of those people that has a thought in your head? Something that you want to do, but all you end up doing is thinking about it. You just sit on it and don't take acton. Remodeling your house, going out, cleaning etc. Whatever the case, I'm sure that there are so many of us out there. Including me. lol . This week we'll talk about those things that you know that you want to do, but for some reason, aren't doing them. Fear, laziness whatever. I'm sure that we've all been there. Stop Thinking and Start Doing. This week. "On-Air"

Tonight's special guest is Dr. Pamela Pine, PhD, MPH, founder and CEO of "Stop the Silence: Stop Child Sexual Abuse, Inc.", a non-profit, charitable 501(c)3 organization, with a Mission to expose and stop child sexual abuse and help survivors heal worldwide. Their goals are: 1) to promote healing of victims and survivors; and 2) to celebrate the lives of those healed. Through their work, "Stop The Silence" aims to address the relationships between CSA and the broader issues of overall family and community violence, and violence within and between communities. Their focus underlines the importance of a shift in focus on positive development within our social complexes (e.g., the relationships between men, women, adults and children, cultural groups) to support peaceful - and to hinder violence-prone - relationships. "Stop the Silence" is also known for its annual "Race to Stop the Silence" event held in Washington DC each April and for its partnerships with such organizations as the annual International Violence and Trauma (IVAT) convention in San Diego and "The Lamplighters Movement."

Tonight's special guest is Lee Parker from Pittsburgh, PA, an abuse survivor and activist for changing the Statutes of Limitations. At 13 years old he was abused while under Children and Youth Services (foster care) by a staff member. Eventually the man filed through the group home and CYS for Lee to become his foster child. After being approved, Lee went to stay with his abuser. The man would come to his bed to molest him after he was asleep. This went on a couple times a week for over a year. Lee explains, "The day I broke down I was in school. At the end of the day when it was time to leave I told my teacher I didn't want to go home. I was crying and wouldn't stop so my teacher sent me to the nurse's office. She soon realized I was being sexually abused at home and she called the police. That's when I was taken from my abusers care." Lee still suffers from knowing nobody protected him while he was in the care of CYS. He says, "It took a toll for the worst on my life. At times I think about death. Its like I've been killed emotionally. I go through life pretending things are fine. I smile but really I just cry on the inside. I'm torn into pieces that can't be put back together." Now 31 years old, Lee has come forward to seek justice from Children and Youth Services, the institution where he met his abuser. But he's discovered the statue of limitations blocks him from seeking justice. Disappointed, Lee explains, "In some states there's no statue of limitations. Just like murder there should be no statue of limitations. A victim should [be able to] take all the time he/she needs."
