    Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Founder and CEO of Miclknight. I am an Educator, Author, Speaker, Nurse, Fitness Trainer and very passionate about healthy living.
    Follow me on my journey: meeting, yesterday at 11 AM; on time, doors closed, checked invite, 11:30 AM. Now what? First, I felt frustrated, waisted 30 min, two deep breaths, sat on the bench, used time wisely.
    What would you do in this situation?
    How would you react?
    How would it affect you Emotionally, Spiritually, Physically and Mentally?
    Just thinking about it, do you feel a shift in your body and your mind?
    Now what are your options:
    frett over it, get angry, frustrated, walk away, wait patiently and use the time efficiently, get some work done, take notes..
    This is how this BTR came about, as this exact episode happened to me yesterday. I was at the destination on time only to find out that the Restaurant did not open for another 30 min. 
    Used time efficiently, writing my BTR and lovely conversation with guests. I felt that big shift within me from frustration to peace, serenity.
    We can quite often change the outcome just by accepting it, taking a deep breath, and thinking positive, doing sth that soothes us and we feel good about getting it done. It's like getting twice as much accomplished than first intended. What a great feeling.

    Do you learn something new each and every day?

    How can we stimulate our brain, so we won't get Alzheimer's or Dementia early in our lives?
    Speaking from personal experience with F-I-L who lived with us until he passed away:
    Be active daily
    Be around people daily, forces you to communicate, to listen, to think, to talk, all brain stimulated activities.
    Proper nutrition
    Sufficient hydration, mostly water:
    Read or be read to, watch TV, interaction, go outside, protect your skin,
    Take courses, seminars, classes, art classes, languages, music, etc.

    My Salvation

    in The Bible

    We cannot mistake God's salvation. Jesus was sent from the most high by His Father to save us not only from sin but from His own wrath. Father can do what he did to Sodom and Gomorrah or the time of Noah. But, His promises are never broken, so instead He sent His only begotten son Jesus down to earth to live like a son of man, indure the pain of man, and die like a man just to save us from HIM!.


    Knowing this we still look toward man to convince us of what we already know. No televangelist can convince us to surrender to Jesus by sharing the little that we have. God's Salvation is Free in fact priceless. No minister with a mega church can save us from sin or the second coming of the KING! 


    A Pastor(Shepard) that does not notice a missing sheep is not worthy to be a caretaker of a flock that God has placed in his hands for safekeeping. 


    When Jesus's broken body hung on the cross, taking upon Himself the sins of the world, looking down at His accusers and tormentors and said, "Forgive them Father for they know not what they are doing" (Luke 23:34) that's our Salvior.  Our Salvation comes only through Him!!


    We cannot be mislead by well dressed vulture or well worded theologians but by every word that comes from God. 


    Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" (Matthew 4:4)

    The Joy of Salvation

    Never in my life did I think I had Sleep Apnea. However, my dentist asked me to take a Sleep Apnea test to find out why I have dry mouth? Honestly, I did not see a relation between the two, but..
    What is Sleep Apnea?
    How does Sleep Apnea fit into E.S.P.M.?
    How can it be detected and diagnosed?
    Why do so many people have this sleep disorder?
    How does it manifest itself?

    Symptoms of possible sleep apnea:
    High blood pressure

    Why do people with sleep apnea have longer and stronger Jet Lag when crossing over 2 time zones?
    Jet lag is a circadian rhythm sleep disorder...
    Jet lag can be worsened by:

    - spending a long time sitting, uncomfortable
    - stress
    - caffeine and alcohol use
    - Air pressure or poor air quality
    Do you see how it has to do with mental, physical and emotional health?
    When in doubt, get tested. 
    ex.: class, small appliance, returned it today, test with a bigger aparatus, wear overnight & return tomorrow. The Dept is recording. Dr. knew things I never shared re: my sleep pattern.

    Amazing Facts re: Nutrition
    Nutrition belongs to E.S.P.M., as it has a huge impact on our mental and physical health.
    Many years ago: no transportation, stores, gyms,


    worked with hand-made tools, physical labor, during day light, sleeping during the night. 
    They ate what they found, grew, hunted, lived long and healthy lives.
    At their time: no grains, rice, potatoes, sugar infused foods, something we eat now almost daily. They ate saturated fats. Article written by George Dvorsky 6/11/12: whole grains are extremely unhealthy, sugar is far worse than we previously thought. 
    Many years ago, no processed foods, hybride foods, milk products, etc., ate fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and nuts. 
    Change in eating habits:
    Paleo Diet, advocates on eating unprocessed foods like lean meat, seafood, roots, tubers, fruits, and vegetables. Our body is used to those foods, digests them better and gets more nutrition per calorie than the typical Neolithic and processed foods.
    Paleo advocates believe that gluten is a nasty weapon in our body. All humans react poorly to gluten. Robb Wolf compares this effect to having poison oak lining our intestinal walls. 
    I am eating mostly vegetables, fruits, and cashews. I am staying away from sweets, milk- and high gluten products.
