Family, as we embark on a new calendar year, the normal process is for us to make different resolutions of things we will do this year. Maybe when we think of last year we feel that we missed the mark in areas that were important to us. Whether it relates to our career goals, relationship status, faith and world view or something else relating to a paradigm we have functioned under there are or may be things which we think we would like to change. The question we ask ourselves though is why? Why is it necessary for me to change to a different state of mind? or, for that matter why do I hold onto a particular state of mind?
On tonight's show entitled, Is Ignorance Your Ruler, we want to take a really hard look at answering the question around why we believe and accept and act on things the way we do. Is it based on facts that we have truly done our due diligence to confirm or are we simply regurgitating what has been told to us by others and acting like it is our own?
So join yours truly Mastering Harris and my co-host Mastering King Morpheus as we peel back another layer in our journey towards Mastering The Man In The Mirror.
The ruler says, "Good teacher, what must I do to have eternal life?" Some commentaries read that the man may have expected Jesus to be impressed with all of the commandments the rich man had kept, but Jesus looked on his heart and saw, that he would never be able to lay down the material world. Jesus looks on the heart, and pride and arrogance are no match for that X-ray system.
A lesson on starting a relationship with Jesus will be taught. No one can make us come to Jesus, but no make no decision for Jesus is to be against him and that is very dangerous.
Tune in and listen up as we share the story of Sundiata Keita (b. abt. 1210- d.abt.1260) the founder of the Mali empire in West Africa. He is regarded as a great magician-king and the national hero of the Malinke-speaking people (Mandinaka, Malinke, Bambara), and a celebrated hero. The epic of Sundiata is primarily, transmitted by generations of Mandinka griots (djeli or jeliw). The famous West African ruler Mansa Musa was his grandnephew.
Sundiata, or Sun Djata, was also known in the Tarikhs (Moslem chronicles) as Mari Djata. Keita is a widely used family name. He is to West African history what King Arthur is to English history, in that both are popular figures about whom very little is known with certainty.
This show will share some of the little known facts about this extraordinary Ruler of the Mali Kingdom.

The children of Israel are waiting for the opportunity to replace God Almighty as their King, it would seem.
1 Samuel 8:5-9New Living Translation (NLT)
5 “Look,” they told him, “you are now old, and your sons are not like you. Give us a king to judge us like all the other nations have.”
6 Samuel was displeased with their request and went to the Lord for guidance. 7 “Do everything they say to you,” the Lord replied, “for they are rejecting me, not you. They don’t want me to be their king any longer. 8 Ever since I brought them from Egypt they have continually abandoned me and followed other gods. And now they are giving you the same treatment. 9 Do as they ask, but solemnly warn them about the way a king will reign over them.”
"Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance for you and your descendants. When the LORD brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites and Jebusites, the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey--you are to observe this ceremony in this month:"
Thus says th e LORD, "Israel is My son, My firstborn.
When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem; And say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel,
"Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant, Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you. So shall ye be my people, and I will be your God. That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day.
Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear the words of this covenant and do them. For I solemnly warned your fathers in the day that I brought them up from the land of Egypt, even to this day, warning persistently, saying, Listen to My voice.
Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart Therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do. But they did them not."
