Christ in the Passover
"The Last Supper", that famous painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, shows Christ and the disciples eating a meal at a long table in straight-backed chairs. But most Christians aren't aware that they didn't just sit down and have a supper. Oh no! This was a Seder. Our Jewish friends could tell us a thing or two about Seders. This was a specialized ritual meal, eaten every year at Passover, commemorating the exodus from Egypt. A lot of Christians don't even know that their communion "bread and wine" came right from this Seder's observance. And another thing: those disciples? They didn't sit on straight-backed chairs, either. This Thursday night, we'll look at what actually happened at that "Last Supper". It's a fascinating slice of history and culture that few realize. Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson on Jewish Roots, each Thursday 9:30 pm, EST at blogtalkradio.com/fougcrew. Or listen LIVE through Twitter, LinkedIn, GooglePlus, or www.facebook.com/fougcrew. To call with a question or comment: 347-324-5759. "The voice of thy brother's blood CRIETH unto Me from the ground," God said to Cain. This is the first instance in history of the shedding of innocent blood. What does that mean for us today? Just Old Testament history from a barbaric and by-gone era? Or is it as relevant as modern man's concern for the environment, the protection of the earth, and what Scripture means by earth's "pollution"? Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson on Jewish Roots, each Thursday night 9:30 pm, EST. at blogtalkradio.com/fougcrew. Or listen LIVE through Twitter, LinkedIn, GooglePlus or http://scripturesdramatized.com.
