Todays Show live Column read: Rebuilding roads

"...Over a year ago, a Phoenix road crew started doing some road reconstruction along the two mile road that runs in front of my home. The project would supposedly end with new sidewalks, two wider lanes and a third middle turning lane to help traffic flow better. They also planned on replacing sewer pipes and a few other upgrades as part of the reconstruction. I was all for the plan to improve the neighborhood, but the construction itself has been a series of tremendous roadblocks that have made the last year difficult for me as well as for my clients and friends to navigate around. Some aspects of my life seemed to be mirroring a similar theme. Destruction and reconstruction are very real themes that we experience physically in this world as well as emotionally and psychologically in our personal lives. Sometimes positive change is initiated by experiences that feel like one is being torn apart..."

Discovery of the Red Heifer and the Rebuilding of the Jerusalem Temple

    in Religion

Recently, it was reported in the news that a red heifer is being bred for the consecration of the priests and cleansing with a view to rebuilding the temple of God in Jerusalem. They claim the ark has already been constructed.

Many unsuspecting Christians, including some ill-informed media and the world will rally around this idea as though it is evidence that the people calling themselves Israel in Palestine are the Isreal of the Bible.

One of the surest signs that these are not the chosen people of God are the ongoing attempts to convince they world they are with the external trappings resembling the types and shadows of the Old Covenant.

For the informed, the Bible is clear in both Old and New Testaments that the Most High does not dwell in temples made with man's hands. This study will be a vigorous investigation of these claims with step by step analyses of the Scriptures.

Join us for an exciting and thrilling study. You don't want to miss it. For more information visit DonKPreston.com or AllThingsFulfilled.com.

    Black Reconstruction #LaShawnAllenMuhammad 323.927.2913

    in Business

    Hosted By: LaShawn Allen-Muhammad

Who were the first Black Elected Officials? During the month of November, as the country gears up to re-elect or vote in the next wave of politicians, Black Reconstruction will revisit the Reconstruction era to pay homage to the Black Men who came before Obama.  During this tumultuous time, Blacks not only established townships, they also positioned themselves to be an integral part of government.

At a Glance.. In 1855, Brownhelm Township, founded by Col. Henry Brown,  gained notoriety throughout the U.S, when the township elected an African-American to government office.  The NY Syracuse Daily Journal, May 31, 1855 reported that John Mercer Langston was a fugitive slave who had been elected clerk.  Brownhelm's early residents had long been known for their strong anti-slavery stance; and Col. Henry Brown's home on the Lake Shore was often a final stop on the Underground Railroad, before reaching Canada by boat.    African-American Firsts: Government

Local elected official: John Mercer Langston, 1855, town clerk of Brownhelm Township, Ohio.

State elected official: Alexander Lucius Twilight, 1836, the Vermont legislature.

Governor (appointed): P.B.S. Pinchback served as governor of Louisiana from Dec. 9, 1872-Jan. 13, 1873, during impeachment proceedings against the elected governor.

U.S. Representative: Joseph Rainey became a Congressman from South Carolina in 1870 and was reelected four more times.

U.S. Senator: Hiram Revels became Senator from Mississippi from Feb. 25, 1870, to March 4, 1871, during Reconstruction.

There have only been a total of five black senators in U.S. history: the remaining two are Blanche K. Bruce [1875-1881] and Barack Obama

Building on community building w/o funding

It's crazy how the negative ish gets more supporters whether it be clicking up to ride on maasa for killing another brother or what have you than doing something righteous for our communities such as rebuilding. When asking these questions, the responses be like the common "ain't(s)"

Ain't nobody got time for that
Ain't nobody got money for that
Ain't nobody got nothing to do with that
    etc, etc, etc

It is our duty to set the stage for those coming after us and none of us can do this alone. We need each other but most importantly we have to change our minds and conditions ultimately building a better future

The NFC North Preview - Next Fan Up - 6/27/15

    in Football

PodVader and the SuperFans present the preseason preview of the NFC North!

Bills SuperFan applications have come in and we have a new Cardinals SuperFan.

Quick update on Tom Brady's hearing.

Jumping into the preview, Packers still the king of the division? Tom, Bears SuperFan, chimes in (after a note from Vikings SuperFan, Davey) that the Packers crown is riding solely on the health of Aaron Rodgers. Perhaps the Lions can compete for the moldy piece of cheese and be more balanced on offense according to Adam. It's a long rebuilding project for the Bears as Tom says Jay Cutler is the worst QB in the division. Watch the Vikings make the leap this year as Adrian Peterson returns with a chip on his shoulder and possibly 2000 yards.

Getting into the position comparisons, interesting how deep the QBs and RBs are in the NFC North. Pod says not only do the Packers have the best WR corps, they have the best WR in Jordy Nelson over Calvin Johnson.  Don't sleep on Alshon Jeffery.  Pod tried to gloss over the Oline, but the SuperFans keep him in check.

On Defense, lots of changes in Detroit but Adam isn't worried.  Tom says he's drinking the offseason Kool-Aid, and admits (AGAIN) that the Bears are last in the division.  Nobody other than Adam really likes their defense. Mike Zimmer is the right coach for the Vikings D.

The way too early record predictions.
