SORT BY Relevancy
The importance of race is simply categorization of people. How do you visually identify another person. Ethnicity, what is the origin of all of these people you have assigned a racial category to? Culture, what are the societal values of these different categories of people. Cultural Identity, even though groups may be within a particular region, do they have an additional belief system, or identification which makes them different from society as a whole. The point is to develop a standard for sociological and anthropological research and studies. It is supposed to simply provide guidelines, but it is often misused as a method of profiling and promoting global industrial agendas.
