Actor, writer, producer, director, are just a few of the hats worn by Quentin Tarantino; who’s films always seem to deliver. Whether the themes are old world, modern day, or a combination of both, his cinematic style always finds a receptive audience, and he never disappoints. In this episode we’ll look at how revenge plays a significant role in some of his more prolific and successful films. Joining us, to share his knowledge of the man and his movies, will be friend of the show, Mr. Carleton D. Price.
Petersen Automotive Museum in L.A. will host one of the biggest nights of BJJ August 9th as Metamoris 4 goes down. This year we see the addition of some very familiar faces from MMA including Chael Sonnen, Josh Barnett, & Vinny Magalhaes. The best person to talk to about this years card is none other then the man behind it, Ralek Gracie. We will talk with Ralek about the continued success of Metamoris, his plans for the future, and of course we have to talk about the recent increase in MMA fighters to the event. We will have him break down some of the match making that took place on this card, what he looks for when it comes to choosing which fighters to have on the card, and plenty more.
Our second guest is none other then Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall. Ian is coming off a big win at UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Brandao against Brad Pickett. We will talk to Ian about fighting in Dublin and how the fans were. Ian has now fought in Brazil, Dublin, & Australia all for the UFC, we will discuss fans in the states vs. foreign fans and fighting in another country and how it changes the game. Ian is now riding a 2 fight win streak with his only 2 losses coming from the champ and #1 contender. We will get his thoughts on his next title shot in a shallow division, his goals for the rest of the year, and how long it will be until we see Uncle Creepy back in the cage.
We understand your fear of The Boogeyman, no not the man under the bed our next guest, Dean Lister. Dean is set to face off with Josh Barnett at Metamoris 4. This could be a great match up, we will talk to Dean about how the match came to be, what he feels is Josh’s biggest threat, and if he plans on calling how he will win the match. We will discuss Dean’s thoughts on the cross promotion with MMA fighters and who he would like to see on an upcoming Metamoris card.
On this week’s edition of Scottscope Talk Radio, the roundtable reviews The Equalizer! Is it faithful to the 80’s television series on which it’s based? Does it have to be? Is it among Denzel Washington’s best action films? Is it merely another violent thriller in the vein of Taken? Does it bear a striking resemblance to another Denzel Washington thriller, Man on Fire? Are the similarities between the two films merely superficial? Is Antione Fuqua one of today’s more competent action directors?
We’ll also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Quentin Tarantino’s breakthrough film, Pulp Fiction! Is it still the post-modern classic that we all remember? Did it single handedly bring independent cinema to the forefront? Could it possibly be the single most overrated film in the Tarantino cannon? Did it begin a modern day renaissance of crime cinema? Was it the single most original film of its era? Did it revitalize American cinema? Can its influence still be felt today? Just how much did Roger Avery contribute to the Oscar-winning screenplay? Does it contain Samuel L. Jackson’s single best performance?

On this week’s edition of Scottscope Talk Radio, the roundtable celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G’s classic debut album Ready to Die. Is it truly a timeless classic? Has it become hopelessly dated? Can B.I.G truly be called one of the greatest of all time with only two studio albums to his credit? Was he simply the beneficiary of east coast bias? Did he steal Tupac’s style, or was Pac simply one of his many influences? Was the official version of the album better than the early version? Can Rick Ross still be considered the heir apparent to the B.I.G throne?
We’ll also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Oliver Stone’s controversial masterpiece, Natural Born Killers! Is it still as shocking as it was 20 years ago? Does the film’s basic premise still resonate? Is it truly an indictment of American News media and popular culture, or is it merely a celebration of wretched excess? Is it in the same class as Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange, Badlands, and Bonnie and Clyde? Is it the last truly great film that Oliver Stone did?
