Proverbs What are you gaining through studying the book of #proverbs

    in Writing

The proverbs in Chapters 25-29 were collected by the men of Hezekiah who was a godly king until late in his life 2 kings 18-20

25:2-3 both God and kings are unfathomable; their respective subjects cannot entirely comprehend their knowledge and motives. A matter may include science and creation 1 Kings 4:33, Philosophyec 1:13 and personal motives and legal testimony pr 18:17;25:8 and 28:11 God is glorious because his creation is so intricate Job 38-41. Kings gain Glory delving into things that improve their ability to rule.

Wow how powerful is this chapter?

25:5 the people in the kings presence are his servants, official,s and advisers. For a throne to be established suggests at least uncontested rule, and possibly a dynasty

#proverbs chapter 1 the object of the book

To promote wisdom discipline understanding, righteousness, justice equity vs 2-7

What spendid words! Wisdom is found 41 times in the boom is more than knowledge and insight it includes skill in living a morally sound life. It can also include skill at a craft in exodus 31:3 for example skill is the same word as wisdom.

The starting point is the fear of God vs 7 next paying attention to parental instruction 8-9 and avoiding bad companions 10-19

Wisdom cries out aloud her warnings, but if these warnings are ignored, the consequences are dire indeed vs 20-33

Solomon as a young man, Solomon had consuming passion for knowledge and wisdom 1kings 3:9-12. He became the litrary prodigy of the world of his day. His intellectual attainments were the wonder of the age. Kings came from the ends of the earth to hear him. He lectured on botany and zoology. He was a scientist a political ruler, a business man with a vast enterprises, a poet, a moralist, and a preacher.

A proverb is a brief popular statement that expresses a general truth. I love the book of proverbs it teaches you many things and #wisdom is the main thing in life today.

#provers on Jakeh and the Oracle, see the textual footnote at verse 1. Agur, the author of  this chapter 1:1 and Ithiel and Ucal the recipients, are otherwise unknown. These Proverbs, though written for specific individuals, have application for all people. An oracle is a message from God. Oration which usual announces a declaration of the Lord is used twice for the oracle or proclamation of men.

30:2-3 some men claim to have to grasp on God. What Job eventually came to realize Job 40:4 Agur reverently states at the beginning: i have no knowledge of the Holy One.

30:4 Gathering wind and binding waters refer to God's control of thunderstorms, which are important for the agricultural cycle. Asking about God's name is asking whether the hearer knows his character. HIs son could refer to Israel HS 11:1 or to anyone whom God teaches DT 8:5 Hebrews 12:6 but Jesus fulfilled the role perfectly Mt 2:15

when you read this i want you i would love for you too look at your bible and compare

Sometimes i compare my applified bible with other bibles just to make sure i understoond the chapters i love Proverbs but sometimes it goes over your head

Chapter 2 wisdom must be sought wholeheartedly. The place to find it is in Gods word. Then follows a warning against the adulteress strange woman a warning against the adultress sonified in Proverbs as a pure and morally beautiful woman, the adultress is the opposite of wisdom, warning that is often repeated. While wisdom is personified in Proverbs as a pure and morally she is folly personified.

Chapter 3 a superb and beautiful chapter kindness truth long life peace trust

Honoring God with possessions prosperity security

"The Five P's of the Proverbs Woman"

    in Spirituality

Promptness, Preparedness, Prioritization, Patience, Proportionality: the woman of Proverbs 31 had all these qualities. Here in this last chapter of the Book of Proverbs, this most famous woman of the Bible's Wisdom Literature shines forth as an example to all, men and women alike. She was an estate manager, a mother, a wife and a woman of virtue. The text begins with "Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies". Tonight we discuss what she did, how she did what she did, and how to be like her. Your host, Rev. Rick Anderson, on "Jewish Roots", LIVE Internet talk radio pod-casting, each Thursday at 9:30 pm, EST.
