Jesus Showed Himself Alive By Appearing To Many Witnesses

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the witness pool that saw Jesus alive after the crucifixion. Evidence for an event required at least two witnesses in the legal system of that time.  According to the painstaking research conducted by the writer of the Gospel of Mark, the physician-theologian Luke, the brilliant legal scholar-theologian Paul, and other New Testament writers Jesus was subjected to rigorous empirical investigation during his post-resurrection appearances.  Over five hundred witnesses saw Jesus outside of his closest followers, and during Paul's ministry many of them were still alive with the buring memory of the resurrected Jesus.

Saved From The Penalty Of Sin, The Power Of Sin, And The Presence Of Sin

    in Spirituality

    This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the saving activity of Yahweh in the three tenses of salvation. We have been saved from the penalty of sin, we are now being saved from the power, and we will be saved from the  presence of sin.  Sin is lack of conformity to the character of Yahweh whether act, disposition, or state. We may psychologize human actions, and behavior, and seek cultural sensitivity thereunto, but in the end the heart is deceitful, and only God can heal(regeneration) it through the Spirit and Jesus.;

The Resurrection Of Jesus Is Not A Cunningly Devised Fable

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the sufficient nature of the resurrection accounts as given by the New Testament writers.  The writers of the New Testament documents were moved or borne along by the Spirit of God to produce the autographs.  None of the original autographs are in existence today.  We have, however, manuscript families, lectionaries, the writings of the church Fathers, and others material that are adequate witnesses for the Faith once for all delievered to the saints.  In other words we have convincing evidence for the resurrection of Jesus.  We do well to carefully consider it.

    Accepted In The Beloved

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the new reality of acceptance in Christ.  In Christ ((Gk. en christos), is Paul's greatest and most vital prepositional phrase.  In Christ is a positional truth that bespeaks a powerful new estate for the believing one.  God gives us new life in Christ and he heals the wounds (trauma) left by sin too.  God's acceptance means that the ruin that persons have experienced in this life can be transformed by Grace.

A Crisis Event In Abram's Faith Resume

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore a crisis event in the faith resume of Abram.  It is good to know that the one who would become the Friend of Yahweh had an event in his very successful life that shook his confidence.  The famine event was a test for Abram.  Empirical evidence supported his decision to leave the land, and he did so without considering the consequences of his actions.  How many times have we faced a "famine" event and abandoned our faith walk because of compelling empirical evidence.  Yahweh is not limited by the empirical he is in fact Lord of the empirical too.  Too many today are bound by the empirical lie.

    Building A Credible Faith Resume

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the process of building a credible faith resume. Love and obedience are the foundation of a credible faith resume.  Real faith responds to the call of Yahweh without petulance and fear.  Fear is self-centeredness disguised as intellectual caution.  Love and obedience bespeak firmness in Yahweh.  Far above the teleological suspension of the ethical is the abiding mandate to say yes to the call-destiny of Yahweh.

  • For God So Loved The World (Gk. Cosmos) That He Gave Jesus

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore God's gift of Jesus to the world.  God's gift of Jesus is the essense of real Liberation Theology.  God's gift was not political, and nor was it racial.  Jesus cannot be other than who he is-the Son of God.  There have been many attempts to make Jesus into a liberal socio-political revolutionary or a victim of psychosis. He is the Theanthropos.  He is God's answer to the human condition.  He is the God-Man who fits no category.

    The Concrete Tensions Of Discipleship

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the concrete tensions of discipleship.  The divided heart cannot experience the deep things of discipleship because its ultimate concern is the self.  The merely religious heart cannot experience the deep things of discipleship because it is dimmed by dogmatic concerns. The one who has crucified the flesh its voracious appetites is the only one who can know the deep things of discipleship. Few may enter into the intrinsic mystery of suffering with Christ.

  • Jesus Said "Love One Another" As An Imperative And Irrevocable Command

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the power filled love command of Jesus.  The foundation of the universe is love.  There are no ultimate particles.  There is no ultimate "stuff" to be found.  There is only love.  Heart intelligence is more important than the formal mathematical poetry of abstract discursive reason.  The universe is founded upon love because God (Gk.Theos) is love.  The brutality of the world is antithetical to intrinsic reality.  Jesus taught love to his disciples because it is the final worthwhile reality.  We are to love one another as those of the same womb.  Many hearts are wounded today because of a failure to practice the heart intelligence of love.

  • Jesus' Cautionary "Constant" On The Discipleship Calculus

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the importance of sitting down to consider if one is ready for the radical call of disciplesip.  Disciplesip is a resurrection event.  The one called by Jesus must removed himself or herself out from among the spiritually dead. Discipleship is a decisive event that sets the called one within the milieu of dynamic God-controlled happenings.  One must not think that discipleship is a religious call in the all too watered down western sense.  Love for God (Gk. Agape, self-sacrifice and to extinguish self-interest), and love (Gk.Agape,self-sacrifice and to extinguish self-interest) for people is intrinsic to the call of Jesus.  Discipleship, therefore, transcends our most cherised beliefs about ourselves and others.  The western view of discipleship is tantamount to an amusing soical fiction.  Discipleship is the willingness to once and for all put off the old garments (way of being), and put on the new graments of right-ness in Jesus (imputed righteousness of Christ).

Supplanting The Ego "Constant" In The Answering Apologetic Of Discipleship

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos explores the necessity of giving up and giving over the relentlessly demanding self to the All Powerful Jesus. The ego that is not given over to God is a war with itself and, others, and knows no peace.  The will of the flesh cannot please God, and has no desire for God.  The rebellious ones imagine themselves intellectual giants because they have expunged God from the cosmos.  God knew from the beginning or before the molecular dance of the cosmos who would seek to dishonor his name.  All is not well with the ego as it is.  In order to follow Jesus the ego must give up its claims of self-interest to find true freedom.
