Trevor Story, injuries and Brandon Belt's extension

    in Baseball

Hello baseball fans and welcome back for another episode of The Rosterbatorical, the official MLB Daily Dish podcast. After a bit of a long haitus, Matt and Chris are back, with a ton of news to talk about.

It wouldn't be a baseball podcast unless the guys discussed the hot start of Trevor Story and how it has taken over the baseball world. Then Matt and Chris talk about Matt's favorite team, the Giants and the recent contract extension handed out to Brandon Belt.

Finally, they close the show on a more somber note, talking about some of the injuries that have hit teams in the early going. They talk about the Cubs losing Kyle Schwarber for the entire year, and what that means for them. The Rangers also lost two key pieces, catcher Robinson Chirinos and outfielder Shin-Soo Choo, and are trying to fill in the gaps while those players are out.

    Key timestamps:

    1:36- Trevor Story talk

    8:10- Brandon Belt contract extension

    13:25- Kyle Schwarber injury

    19:40- Rangers injuries

As always, you can follow the show @MLBDailyDish, and follow the hosts @TheOriginalBull and @ChrisRSchubert.

The Ed & Fuz Show Episode 94

    in Sports

After a week of dealing with technical difficulties, the guys return with Fuz still fired up about Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Goose Gossage's comments towards Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper, who was critical of MLB's “unwritten rules.” We also talk about the fire dumpster that is Ed's NCAA Final Four brackets, and Novak Djokovic complaining about equal pay in the tennis world.

    Episode 25 | March 25, 2015: Painted into a corner

    in Sports

We are back! After a week-long hiatus due to me being sick, Let's Talk Tribe returns with an episode full of Cleveland Indians talk.Opening Day is rapidly approaching, and that means it's time for the Indians to prepare by adding another outfielder and crowning a fifth starter once and for all. It also means it's the perfect time for Jason and I to make predictions for the upcoming season that will almost surely be wrong.

We missed out on last week's FanPost question, so we made up for it this week by letting Jason tell his legendary Frank Thomas story. I also tell my own traumatic tale of losing a Pittsburgh Pirates hat that was blessed by a parade clown.

Also, of course, we discuss why the Chicago White Sox is just so fantastic to watch from a distance and why maybe have a 14-year-old as your clubhouse leader is not a great idea. Maybe.

Apologies for the frequent Skype screw-ups and my own crackly voice as I recover from an annoying cold. This week's episode clocks in at 65 minutes. Thanks for listening!

The Fantasy Six Pack Hour: OF Position Preview and Format Specific Strategies

    in Sports

A.J and Joe are back to discuss the OF Position Preview for the upcoming 2016 Fantasy Baseball season.

First we give you the latest news that happened in baseball over the past week, including the Ian Desmond signing.

The outfield is deep, always is, but it is always top heavy with guys who can produce at elite five-tool caliber levels. How many of these top guys should you target? Is A.J. Pollock really a first round pick? J.D Martinez and top-10 outfielder? When is George Springet going to breakout and give us 30/30?

We follow that up with our sleeper and bust picks for the position as well.

Then we finish up with some strategy. Points leagues, Roto, H2H categories. They all require just a slight difference in the way you draft manage your team. We cover the main points to help you win your league this year.

    Episode 1606: All the Cubans

    in Sports

The latest episode of the True Blue LA podcast revolves quite a bit around Cuban players and their relation to the Dodgers. We discuss the recent defections of the Gurriel brothers and when they might sign, and also talked about 16-year-old phenom Lazarito, who could pick a team any day now, with the Dodgers among his suitors.

But it wasn't just Cubans the Dodgers might sign. We also discussed players already in the organization, including pitcher Yadier Alvarez, outfielder Yusniel Diaz and second baseman Omar Estevez, a trio in whom the Dodgers have invested a total of $75 million including overage penalties during this international signing period.

We also touched on some other things, including whether beans have a place in chili, and we introduced a new trivia game to help pass the offseason time.
