The Resilient Brain-reading excerpts, Molecules of Emotion, C. Pert

    in Science

Noon Saturdays, "The Resilient Brain," host Kathy Kitts

Today, I'll read excerpts from the excellent and ground-breaking book, Molecules of Emotion.  The author is Candace Pert, and if you have never heard of her or her book, you are in for a special treat! Ms. Pert faced many challenges as a woman in the male-dominated National Institutes of Health.  Despite this, she was the scientist to discover the opiate receptor site on the human cell.  We now call these natural opiates we produce, "endorphins."

Do join us to listen to how these "molecules of emotion" were discovered, and what exactly they are.  We'll have some fascinating facts as well.  Did you know that even insects produce molecules which translate into some sort of emotion?

Lesson from Ezra, The Lord Has Helped! In Jesus name!

    in Christianity

I am so thankful the Lord has made a way for me, the last 4 days of my life have been utterly the depth of testing of my faith! This was where the rubber met the road in my walk with Christ. I was facing a HUGE struggle my will vs the flesh. My flesh had become addicted mind and body to a pain medication from a previous rolled ankle then pain management slash addiction to a point where I could not go on anymore taking the pills. So cold turkey by faith I quit and it was through the faith in Christ alone and application of the word of God and standing on it that brought me through to victory, God is faithful.

I have a wonderful encouraging word from the book of Ezra "the Lord has helped". In this lesson we are going to learn God's 100% faithfulness and the reality of man's 100% unfaithfulness. The truth that sets men free is being teached today in the power of the Holy Spirit and love that are in Christ, Amen.

The importance of realizing ALL sin in our life and confessing it that is to agree with God it is SIN and ask god to cleanse it from your life. Confession is agreement with God sin all of it is all bad so if we agree with the Lord we find we don't desire to sin anymore and we desire to please the Lord! This is a great story of how easy we can lose heart and hope and our distinctives. Also How we forget His promises and we fall back and delay the good and perfect plans of God in our life. One powerful truth i learned through getting sober from opiates was this truth and devoted the first half of today to prayer and bible study and ministry you will be blessed by this messsage in the name of Jesus.

    1) To seek the word of God and do it

    2) Christs role in our lives

    3) Importance of repentence

Finally the road map for lasting victory through devotion to Christ and leaving the former things the old man behind!
