This documentary film about financial literacy and the spending habits of African-Americans which is worth $1.1 Trillion (if we were a country, we would be the 16th largest in the nation). Following the movie premiere will be a Q&A Panel Discussion with Writer/Producer/Director Ric Mathis and cast members. Born and raised in the tiny hamlet of Columbia, TN, Oshunyemi was inundated with Afrikan-American spiritual practices since birth. Her matriculation at Fisk University in Nashville led her to begin to seek the origins of the “superstitions” of her youth. Once she discovered the West Afrikan and Native American roots of most of the practices she began to study the Yoruba tradition. She was initiated into the priesthood in 1994 as a votary of the munificent deity Oshun. She began divining almost immediately after initiation and has performed lectures, initiations, naming ceremonies, weddings, house cleansings, and funerary rites for 21 years. She is the co-founder of Onitoju Ona Agbani ( Keepers of the Ancient Path) New Afrikan Vodun Spiritual Temple in Nashville and the founder of Ile Eko Se Pataki Cooperative Homeschool. She made Apetebii in Abeokuta, Nigeria in 1999.She is the creatrix of the internationally renowned Black Witchcraft classes, that empower and uplift the totality of black femimine force in the universe She is the proud home schooling mother of five beautiful daughters and one valiant son.She is the author of Ona Agbani: The Ancient Path, S'Otito-Be Truth & Raising Revolutionaries. She is the descendant of a lineage of Afrikan and Native American wise women (also known as “witches”) and learned early spellcrafting at her mother’s knee. She received her B.A. in English from Fisk University.
