Di started out photographing her son playing lacrosse when he was in 7th grade. Once he joined his high school lacrosse team, they had never had a parent who actually wanted to photograph the games, only pictures of their son's. Di wanted to make memories that would last the boys throughout their lives, so she took on the task. Di was the first full time team lacrosse photographer his high school ever had. Di started out using a Sony Super Steady Shot 15-200mm zoom lens and was their only photographer for her son's four years in high school. Di shot all his club tournaments as well. When her son went off to college, Di volunteered to be the team photographer for Metropolitan State University of Denver. After Di started writing for In Lacrosse We Trust, she also had her media credentials for full field access so Di started shooting the Outlaws games, the FIL and had the great opportunity to be at both the Outlaws semi-final playoff game and the MLL Championship game. In May of this year, Di bought a new camera, a Nikon D3200SLR with 3 different lenses. An 18-55mm zoom, a 55-200mm zoom & a 70-300mm zoom lense, and started getting even better shots. Now Di started her own photography business in the hopes that she can shoot lacrosse games, team photographs, etc. Di is in the process of setting up a website to begin selling some of her work. Di's Facebook page is Di Miller Photography. Di's Twitter account is @dimiller61. Di also posts pictures on her own FB page, Lacrosse is Awesome and the Metro State University of Denver Men's Lacrosse pages as well!
Join Casey and John at 11:30am on Monday, December 1st, as we speak with Judy Beedle Photography on Something's Brewing!
We will be asking questions but would also love for you to send us questions to ask Judy.
You can email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or suggestions.
A 1994 graduate of Ithaca College, with a degree in Cinema & Photography (concentration in still photography), Judy Beedle was raised in Maine and calls Portland home. Following her time at Ithaca, Judy returned home to Maine and completed a three month program at the Salt Institute of Documentary Studies, which involved creating two stories published for Salt Magazine. It was at Salt that she learned the value of voice, vision, and story telling.
After Salt, Judy worked on a cruise ship, traveled, waited on more tables than she cares to admit, and worked in various capacities for other photographers and custom photo labs. She currently lives and runs her business, Judy Beedle Photography, in Southern Maine, where she edits her images of people, life, and pretty stuff.
In addition to her photography life, she plays roller derby, eats gluten free, and believes in always having her toes painted. She loves snacks, laughing at inappropriate times or things, and any chance to reference the 80’s. And in case you were wondering, Nikon not Canon. Find her at www.beedlephotos.com
We want to thank you for your support! Please spread the word of our show and support your local artists. Thank you! John & Casey

It started back in 1996 with a graphic design hobby, clawing my way through user manuals on a not-so top of the line computer to create some rudimentary artwork. However, I knew there was something in this for me. The years went by and my design skills improved, so I decided to dabble in photography as a means to supplement my work and possibly combine the two media into new art. With my trusty Nikon D60 in hand, I would shoot pictures at family get-togethers, learn the skills (not knowing that my new name would be “hey photographer” followed by the snap of someone’s fingers). After seeing my work develop and grow, it was suggested that I branch out and do some charity event pictures along with other outdoor portrait work for friends, which I loved. The proverbial bug had bitten.
