Become a United States, Register to Vote, and Vote in the 2016 Elections

As a United States citizen (USC) voting is a basic right that we all should exercise. Too many of us ignore that basic right that we have. Please keep in mind that some people in some countries do not have the basic voting rights we have as USC. Please note, the 15th Amendment gave African American men the right to vote. Second, the 19th Amendment gives women the right to vote.  The 15th Amendment prohibits the state and federal governments from denying our rights to vote. If you are 18 or older and you are a USC, register to vote early and vote. If you are going to be out of your voting station for any reason, you may vote using an absentee ballot or you may vote early. In some states, State of Minnesota as an example, you may register to vote and vote on Election Day. Also your employer should accommodate you on Election Day, so that you may exercise your right to vote. If you vote for one candidate and that candidate did not win, that is fine. You would have made a statement that as to who you think should govern. If you feel that you qualify to become a USC, please give us a call 1-(763) 425 5447 or visit us www.m-jlawltd.com

    National & International Roundtable

    in Current Events

Yoshihiro Uchida arrived on San Jose State College’s campus fresh off his parents’ strawberry and lettuce farm during the fall of 1940.  As a student assistant to Emilio “Mel” Bruno, who coached the SJSC Police School Cadets in judo, Uchida would begin his whirlwind courtship with the martial art form.  Bruno’s departure from SJSC to the California Department of Corrections later that semester provided a key opportunity upon which Uchida, who will be 96 on April 1, would pounce.  With Bruno’s departure, Uchida was given an opportunity to coach the Spartan cadets. But upon America’s entrance into World War II, Uchida joined the Army. There he and his Japanese peers—just as Black Americans—served in segregated units.  Initially, his unit served KP (Kitchen Patrol) duty, and cleaned military bases throughout the Midwest.  But once a superior officer spotted Uchida’s impressive academic record, he was transferred to a military hospital.  There, he worked in the lab, and was provided tutoring by military doctors.

Constance Miller a Seattle resident and author of the brain injury survival manual that was featured on Super Bowl XXXIV. Her book is entitled FROM THE ASHES, and she asks: “What is the future of football now that it has been conclusively linked to the severe, debilitating brain disease known as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE. What are the moral and legal implications of football in the age of concussion?  Recent studies have shown that developing brains of young children are especially susceptible to damage from brain injuries caused by concussions.”

Holder of a master’s degree in psychology, Miller is the managing director of the Seattle-based Brain Injury Resource Center, a non-profit clearinghouse operated by brain-injury activists since 1985. Providing a treasure-trove of information on the subject, the Center is manned by consultants that include neuropsychologists, lawyers and individuals suffering from TBI.

In the mid-1980s she authored the book “From the Ashes” -- a highly acclaimed work on head trauma and its long-term effects.

Miller and “From the Ashes” were the subject of a five-minute video segment on concussion that aired during the pre-game show of the ABC Television Network’s telecast of Super Bowl XXXIV between Tennessee and St. Louis.

She goes on to say “As the survivor of my own 1982 life-altering concussion, I am here to help other concussion survivors.

    NATIONAL REVIEW DUMPS ON TRUMP

    in Politics

Who gives a crap about the National Review? Who even reads magazines anymore? When the girlie mags stop publishing, that’s when you know the writing is on the wall. Penthouse recently stopped publishing, Hustler will soon stop and Playboy doesn’t have naked pictures anymore. If people don’t want nudie mags, who the hell wants the National Review?

The National Review put out a manifesto, I guess you would call it. The entire issue was a collection of essays from various conservative writers explaining why Donald Trump should not be president. Why he is not a conservative, why he is not a Republican. If you vote for him, you are not a real Republican. That’s what 22 conservative writers said about Trump.

Notable names included Glenn Beck, Brent Bozell, Bill Kristol, Michael Medved, Erick Erickson and Dana Loesh. Who are these people? In Republican circles they are a big deal. In terms of actual influence, I’m not so sure. What candidate have they supported that has gone on to win? I’m not talking about local races, I’m talking presidential elections.

You may not agree with everything Sarah Palin says or does. I don’t. But one thing she is spot on with is that Democrats would never to something like this to one of their own candidates. They would never launch a campaign to destroy their frontrunner. It would never happen. Sure, you might see favoritism, but you would never see 22 Democrats write essays for a Democratic magazine with the sole purpose of destroying Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. Democrats would never do that.

Never in history has this been done. Regardless of what you think about Donald Trump, you cannot deny the enthusiasm and excitement surrounding his campaign.

    in Legal

Register to vote and voting. Ways a person becomes a United States citizen (USC)

Four ways to be a USC: Birth in the US, Birth abroad, Derivative citizenship, and Naturalization.

Naturalization may draw the most complication/litigation. Generally, be a lawful permanent resident for five years; tree year and other exceptions. Be a person good moral character.  Potential waivers: fee waiver, medical waiver, 20/50 rule, and 15/55 rule.

To vote in the federal elections, a person has to be a USC and has to be age 18.

Some states require you to register before Election Day, so that you can vote on Election Day.

Other states, like Minnesota, allow you to register on Election Day and also vote on Election Day.

I believe that some litigants are trying to eliminate this same day registration and voting on Election Day in Minnesota.

Registering to vote and voting is a free process. Registering to vote and voting is a constitutional right that each United States citizen has.

The #15Amendment gave African American men the right to vote.

The #19Amendment gave women the right to vote.

A violation of either amendment could also trigger violation of the #FifthAmendment and #FourteenthAmendment .
