    in Health

Welcome our February conversation on Design for Health and Wellbeing with Amy Cueva, Co-Founder, Mad*Pow.

How does design in technology affect how consumers, caregivers, and health advocates help us improve public health and personal health and wellbeing?  This is a key topic in healthcare today as we aim to reduce costs, increase access and improve the quality of healthcare.  You’ll want to hear just how the “softer side” of technology is heading, with emphasis on empathy and empowerment.

If your personal or professional mission includes transforming the healthcare system through improved engagement, empowerment, empathy and efficiency, I invite you to join me with Amy Cueva, Founder, Chief Experience Officer.

Just listen here on February 11th and also find out about a great conference in Boston, April 5-6th called HxRefractored, sponsored by Mad*Pow and Health 2.0.

Join the movement for better health and wellbeing with innovations from design technology.

HEALTH MEDIA NOW-DR. KAJIKI-HOW TO MAINTAIN GOOD THYROID HEALTH!

    in Health

Please join us this Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. PST and 7:00 p.m. EST for a live show with host Denise Messenger.  Our special guest is Dr Gil Kajiki.  He is the founder of the Valley Thyroid Institute. He graduated from the Pasadena College of Chiropractic and has been a chiropractor for 30 years. The main focus of his practice is thyroid and Auto Immune conditions.
Through working with his patients he developed the Kajiki Protocol for determining thyroid and autoimmune issues with a particular concentration on Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.  He offers his patients answers and protocols to improve thyroid function and overall health.
With his roots in chiropractic-biophysics, Dr. Kajiki was busy helping patients in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California with their spinal structural corrective care when his wife became ill with what at first appeared to be Epstein Barr.
As he watched his wife’s health deteriorate under the care of several doctors, Dr. Kajiki began a relentless search for answers to why his healthy wife could become so ill and yet no one seemed to know how to care for her. After more than two years of tests, medication, B12 shots, and finally hospitalization, it was her husband and not her medical provider who came to her rescue.
After countless hours of study, consultation with colleagues, and testing, Dr. Kajiki diagnosed his wife with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition that attacks the thyroid. He spent the next several months treating her autoimmune condition through natural supplements, lifestyle modifications, and dietary changes. She is now symptom free and doesn’t take any thyroid medication.  Dr. Kajiki has an educational 5 DVD series of self-help for patients with chronic thyroid problems called “The Thyroid Mystery Solved”.  You asked for it and we deliver!

    National & International Roundtable

    in Current Events

Yoshihiro Uchida arrived on San Jose State College’s campus fresh off his parents’ strawberry and lettuce farm during the fall of 1940.  As a student assistant to Emilio “Mel” Bruno, who coached the SJSC Police School Cadets in judo, Uchida would begin his whirlwind courtship with the martial art form.  Bruno’s departure from SJSC to the California Department of Corrections later that semester provided a key opportunity upon which Uchida, who will be 96 on April 1, would pounce.  With Bruno’s departure, Uchida was given an opportunity to coach the Spartan cadets. But upon America’s entrance into World War II, Uchida joined the Army. There he and his Japanese peers—just as Black Americans—served in segregated units.  Initially, his unit served KP (Kitchen Patrol) duty, and cleaned military bases throughout the Midwest.  But once a superior officer spotted Uchida’s impressive academic record, he was transferred to a military hospital.  There, he worked in the lab, and was provided tutoring by military doctors.
