This week, the guys recap Thanksgiving and discuss more holiday plans, plus news, upcoming events and more!
And this week's #NUartist is EZA! EZA, (pronounced Eh-Za) is 21-year old Ellery Bonham, an exceptional vocalist and musician who writes her music primarily using vocal loops and synthesizers. The colors and patterns she’s able to see while writing have translated into her moody, vibrant and magnetic sound. Her first EP Means of Escape was released in July 26, 2014.
This week was a buzy one for the guys! Matt went to a party for rising country artist Sam Hunt, saw the musical "Once" at the Tennessee Performign Arts Center (TPAC), attended the Buds N' Suds charity event and hit up Musicians Corner. Then he and Shawn checked out the new Adele's Restaurant and went to the Nashville Lifestyles "Style Setters" event!
And this week's #NUartist is Chancellor Warhol! Nashville Underground's first hip hop artist, Chancellor grew up drawn to art, cinema, fashion and a diverse culture all of which helped shape his very own style of music today. Channeling an alternative/electro rap style, his unconventional sound has earned him a place on stages such as Bonnaroo, SXSW, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, Hangout Fest, Life is Beautiful Festival, and Sundance Film Festival.
The Nashville Scene released it's annual list "You're So Nashville If..." Matt and Shawn go through many of them and also tease several upcoming events. They are also announcing a new contest!
And this week's #NUartist is Isaac Hayden. Hayden was signed by Sam Brooker to an artist development and publishing deal with Artist Revolution Records in 2013. Sam and Isaac are currently finishing work on Isaac’s debut album featuring cameos from some awesome local and national talent such as The McCrary Sisters, Jeremy Lister, Daniel Ellsworth and Jared Kneale, who is now playing drums for Kacey Musgraves.
Next week will be a holiday special featuring christmas music from Nashville Underground alumni, but THIS WEEK you're still stuck with Matt and Shawn! This week they discuss holiday happenings including several Christmas parties, and Nashville Scene's annual list: the Boner Awards!
Plus, this week's #NUartist is Justin Klump! Justin is an American singer-songwriter from Vancouver, Wash. whose accessible folk-pop music comes directly from the heart. In less than five years, Justin independently released three albums, logged more than 100,000 miles performing across America and earned national media attention. In 2012, Justin released the album Sticks & Stones, which debuted in the top 10 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart. His latest release is The Night is Young, with the title-track continuing to receive radio airplay around the country. He has been featured by American Songwriter, SIRIUS XM’s The Coffeehouse, iTunes, among others. Justin currently resides in Nashville, TN and is writing and recording new music.
The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards nominations are in! Nashville makes a huge presence on the list, including artists such as Meghan Trainor, Brandy Clark, The Black Keys, Jack White, Ryan Adams and Cage The Elephant, not to mention the nominees from the Country categories. The guys discuss the list as well as Nikki Williams' performance in Nashville, holiday parties and more!
And this week's #NUartist is Dustin Sellers! Not only has Sellers performed as the front man for Nashville rock band Overzealous, and performed with Magnolia Sons, but he is now taking a solo approach with new music and live shows. Overzealous will still remain an active band and outlet for Dustin Sellers songs and performances. However, Sellers has alot of material that is unique to both overzealous and to previous material he has written.

With a voice comparable to that of Bonnie Raitt, Ann Wilson of Heart, and Linda Ronstadt, McCormick mixes power vocals with gut wrenching songwriting, blending her folk and country roots with her classic rock upbringing. After working as an ICU nurse for the past six years, Laura is now following her dreams into music, and brings a fierce set of pipes with her debut album Box Full of Trouble.
