    Media, Expectations and Motherhood.

    in Women

The expectations that we have on oursleves as mothers is large, we can all agree on that - but is it real?  The media feeds us with images of how we should look, feel and live from a very young age.  The images of motherhood are often unrealistic while the reality of motherhood is vastly under-represented.   These expectations are reinforced every which way we turn,  causing women to try to hide their reality and persisit on 'keeping it together'.  As you transition into Parenthood, you transition into a stage of life that challanges and changes your identity, your values and your relationships.  Not expecting these changes can greatly affect your life, often leaving women feeling they have underachieved, confused and even depressed - but it's in this vulnerability that we can truly connect - and create our new tribe.

Elly Taylor is a Physcologist who noticed that her story and many of her clients stories were not dissimilar, they were drowning in parenthood, feeling that something was wrong with themselves, their partner and their relationship. After studying the research available she discovered that there was a lot of research on the subject but it wasn’t translating into practical support in the community, so she wrote her book Becoming Us which has become a bench mark book on the subject. www.empoweringmotherhoodradio.com

The Truth About Artificial & Natural Flavors - Are They Harming Your Health?

    in Nutrition

The evolution of food flavoring began during the industrial revolution. Meat and vegetables became available from distant lands. Foods were processed and preserved to lengthen shelf life. For the first time in history, foods were no longer going directly from the field to the plate. Freshness became an issue and the need to recreate flavors that had been lost by preserving and processing was born... and so started the addition of chemicals into our food.

But, along with that also came the perversion of our food supply SO profound that it can be linked, directly and/or indirectly, to a majority of the health concerns we face today.

In this episode, Dr. Budweiser founder of Weiser Living will cover the following:

How Flavorings entered Our Food Supply
What Is A Food Flavoring & How Is It Made?
The Trademark Secrets That Keep Us In The Dark
    Artificial vs Natural Flavorings
Excitotoxins - What Are They & Their Serious Side Effects You Should Consider
    Do You Eat Beaver Butt???
What Effect Do All These Flavorings Have On Our Health?
    How Do You Avoid Flavorings

    ... and so much more!

So be sure to tune in to a very flavorful time with Dr. Budweiser and his golden wisdom!

Last episode we aired a special segment to bring awareness to this devastating event and made a promise to Rick Anderson and his family that Wolfdog Radio: Your Voice, Your Time would continue to do whatever we can to raise money and generate supplies to help restore Summerfield Farm and Zoo as quickly as possible.

With that in mind, Wolfdog Radio: Your Voice, Your Time will host another special show on "Wolves & Wolfdogs Living through Natural Disasters" as a way of further honoring this promise.

On this episode, we will focus on weather disasters and how they have affected our lives and the lives of our animals. We want to hear from you, the community, and welcome all to call in and share your stories. Among others, we will have Jerry Mills, who has lived through some of the worst hurricanes of our time. Jerry will discuss the effect this has had on his family, animals, and what it is like to have to rebuild from the ground up.
