Tell the Truth. Show up in Love. Live in Freedom.
Tonight, we're talking all about struggles at the office....
“Anything or anyone that doesn’t bring you alive is too small for you.” David Whyte
It was around this time last year last I was called into my CEO’s office on a Monday morning and released from my position.
Getting fired is traumatic. Going home to tell your future husband that you just bought a home with that you no longer have a job, an identity or an income is sobering.
But here’s the truth….
My life had been talking to me for years, but I hadn’t been listening.
That job may have paid the bills, but it never fed my soul. It might have looked glamorous and impressive to others, but it actually made me smaller and dimmed my light.
What I couldn’t see then that is so crystal clear to me now is that on that bright, summer morning last year, I wasn’t only getting fired. I was being freed.
I was freed from the idea that in order to make a good living, I wasn’t permitted to make a good life.
I was freed from believing that I had to be miserable in my job for some period of time until I earned the right to be happy…someday.
I was freed from the belief that because this is all I had ever done that this was all I could ever do.
What happened on that Monday morning one year ago happened FOR me - not TO me.
That firing led me back to myself.
That firing led me to more meaning, more passion and more abundance in the last year than the last 20 years combined.
That firing led to my freedom.

Esther has a story that has inspired millions of people. Women and men world-wide can rejoice that we have this awesome example of a female who was beautiful inside and out. She showed that physical attractiveness is not enough to get the job done in life. To really be all you can be, you need to have a reverent and devotional spirit unto God and a character that is stable and rational. When the lives of Esther and her people became threatened, instead of backing up into a position of fear and hysteria, she became the epitome of 2 Timothy 1:7. The Queen did not have a spirit of fear! Absolutely not!! She demonstrated power, love and a sound mind…….a deep and undisturbed mind……When her uncle, Mordecai, let her know that death and destruction were upon them, Esther did not panic; instead, she stayed calm, cool and collected; quickly deciding to command prayer and fasting FIRST!!! Then, she humbly and courageously went forward with a plan that did not have a guaranteed outcome. A plan in which she would have to lead in the battle to save Jewish lives; a plan in which, unless God intervened, she might surely perish in her trying. It is a classroom experience to see how she volleys back and forth with her uncle, Mordecai, as they work together to go to war against their enemy. I enjoyed this discussion immensely on our BlogTalk Radio show: Devoted To HIM with Misti Long. I hope you will get stirred up all over again about how God used this courageous beauty Queen to save our spiritual ancestors from death. God Bless and let’s thank Him for Esther’s leadership savvy, awareness and spiritual intelligence.

Romans 6:6-11 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The National African American Forum was formed to address the concerns of the New Jim Crow ” Mass Incarceration in the Age of Color Blindness
According to Michelle Alexander, New York Times Best Seller, and winner of the NAACP image award, states that the war on drugs during the Reagan Administration set into motion blatant discrimination within the caste system in the criminal justice system, education, economic development, housing, health, and the political process. According to Alexander individuals that was classified as a convicted felon after release could not receive public assistance in health, housing, and education, furthermore those individuals could not apply for loans to start a business, and did not have the right to vote.
A vast majority of those individuals were African Americans. Through new Jim Crow African Americans have been left behind in all institutions of life.
The National African American Forum is setting out to undo the wrongs of the New Jim Crow.

Have you ever been confronted by real injustice, the kind that can change your life forever?
When Child Protective Services showed up at the house of Houston native Wayland Matthew Fox in March 2006, his life changed forever. Fox learned that he was being falsely accused of a horrible crime. It would be the beginning of a trial that left Fox in jail for 17 months, though there was no tangible evidence. It's a charge that Fox has always maintained was completely false, and this assertion was supported by numerous professional evaluations. He was eventually exonerated, but not before he was sentenced to 10 years in prison and his life, and family, were thrown into utter chaos. To keep his sanity Fox wrote in his journal. His appeal was eventually upheld on the grounds of prosecutorial violations during his trial and all charges were subsequently dropped, his sentence was reversed, his record expunged and Fox was freed in January 2010.
His book, First in the Mind and Heart - A true story about the resilience of the human spirit, is a compilation of Fox's prison writings. It's a tale of human endurance in the face of gross injustice. It reveals the effectiveness of human love, peace and kindness and how the Spirit of God illuminates even the darkest of conditions and can soften even the hardest of hearts.
Wayland Matthew Fox is a native Texan and a long time student of The Urantia Book. He has a huge extended family of friends and loved ones across the US. He spends a great deal of time writing letters to lift the spirits of the downtrodden, who find themselves incarcerated. His story is a powerful memorial of how wrongful convictions happen and the consequences they wreak. It's a story of injustice, grief and moral outrage as well as transcendence, lessons of love, service and self-forgetfulness, as taught by the Master, Jesus of Nazareth.
Please join us for Matthew's amazing story!
