McG plays 30-minute sets by four of his favorite bands. First, is an old school trip with vintage killer cuts by Husker Du from their hardcore years. That's followed by a blistering set of dissonance by Public Image Ltd., highlighting their "Flowers of Romance" years. Landing in the here and now, McG plays two of his fave contemporary bands, Carlton Melton, who excel at spacey, atmospheric jams and Mogwai, who lock into instrumental grooves that are buffered by ambient noise and gentle soundscapes.
Tonight we welcome in Kyra "Mogwai" Batara. Kyra made her professional debut last week with a big win. The atomweight prospect is signed to Resurrection Fighting Alliance and will be doing charity work this weekend. She will talk about her win, her contract and give us some details to what is going on this weekend.
Since there is really no big event this weekend, we will open up the phone lines and talk amongst ourselves about what has been going on this year in our world of MMA. The shows are always so full with interviews tonight we change that. Probably won't happen again!

Our first guest is no stranger to this show and no stranger to the win column. Shah Bobonis is on a 7 fight win streak and coming off a very impressive win against Cornelius Godfrey in his XFC debut. Shah is now set to take on Pablo Alfonso at CFA 9 on January 19, 2013 in Coral Gables, FL. Get ready to get to know one of the best 135 lb. fighters in the nation not in the UFC.
You know the rule of not feeding a Mogwai after midnight, well I think someone broke that rule. We got a Gremlin in the house and his name isn’t Spike it’s Josh Sampo and something says it won’t be long until you see him wrecking shop in the UFC. Josh is set to take on Alexis Vila at CFA 9 and with a win there it could mean big things for the Gremlin. Josh is coming off a huge win over Antonio Banuelos back in September and I can’t think of how the competition can get any better outside the UFC.
The man kicking off the second hour has a story I can’t wait to talk about and it all starts on BET. You read that right, I said his MMA career started on BET. Jamie Yager is in the shop and is ready to talk his Bellator MMA debut. Yager was a multiple sport athlete before he ever put on a pair of 4 oz. gloves. Jamie played Baseball, Football, and Wrestled in High School before heading out to College where he played football.
You know I mentioned earlier that we have a champ wrapping things up and a champ is what you’re going to get. This man knows a thing about taking the long road to get what you want. Michael Chandler has worked his way to the top spot without a single shortcut. Chandler didn’t just get a title shot in Bellator he was a product of the tournament format and even took on the Bellator reigning champ Eddie Alvarez in what many believed could have been fight of the year. Michael is set to take on a man who has taken a similar route to get his title shot in Rick Hawn on January 17, in Irvine, CA.
McG takes a breather from punk rock to play two hours of chilled out, mellow and introspective tracks from bands such as Stars of the Lid, Carlton Melton, Mogwai and Ólafur Arnalds & Nils Frahm.
While the pace will be considerably slower, the intensity and immediacy of punk rock will be channeled through a much more mellow lense of slo-mo psychedelia, modern ambient and noisy haze.
This show is scheduled to air Thursday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m. EST. To take part in the show please call in at 347-202-0832 or click on the shows free skype link.

Reykjavík, Iceland Indie Artist For a Minor Reflection Featuring a.k.a. “FaMR” CD Holdum í átt að óreiðu’ (Heading towards chaos). This quartet instrumental approach to music seems to incorporate a rock fusion with ethereal flavor. It’s relaxing, reflective, and has somewhat of a meditative appeal. They have been compared to and toured through Europe and Canada with popular Iceland bands such as Sigur Rós, Mogwai.
Back in 2007, the quartet struck up a fan base with their self-produced debut album Reistu þig við, sólin er komin á loft... (Rise, the Sun’s Up...), a mesmerizing, hour-long tapestry featuring six songs and recorded over a weekend in their friend’s studio. This record, as well as their energetic live shows, earned them a slew of accolades, including favorable comparisons to Explosions in the Sky, Caspain and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Their fellow Icelanders Sigur Rós even described them as “a band with the potential to out Mogwai”.
So, sit back relax have a cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of wine and enjoy some good conversation & music with “For a Minor Reflection”
