    Right now, it's the wild, wild West in this industry. So many certifications and organizations trying to manage those certified and uncertified and newly certified instructors, while simultaneously branding themselves as the leader in group fitness innovation. Who is advocating for the instructor? We must advocate for ourselves. We must agree on our own standards. We must work together to build a product that is 'as sold/ as delivered'

    Tai Chi as a group fitness class

    As I finished my tai chi practice this morning, I was inspired to record this show. 


    What's MindBody fitness? What does that even mean? I describe how I interpret MindBody fitness and why it is important that GFIs pay attention to this essential healing practice.

    How do we adapt a tai chi class successfully to a group fitness format?


    How do instructors create a standard format for teaching tai chi to students

    Tiesha Frontis Powell, the founder and CEO of KnowYourSelfWorth Sister’s Network and a native from Charlotte, NC who came to Durham, NC in 1993 to attend North Carolina Central University.  She is a country girl at heart that has persevered through many challenges: molestation, promiscuity addiction, domestic abuse, abortions, miscarriage, homelessness, divorce, home foreclosure, STDs, anxiety and depression. 


    Tiesha graduated from Myers Park High school and was accepted into NC Central University by the grace of God. Her grades were good but her test scores would not allow her to enter into college on a general admission status but God made a way for her to attend and graduate with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Biology while working two jobs to put herself through college. Tiesha Frontis Powell has a very strong determined Spirit and truly loves the Lord. She is rooted and grounded in her Christian faith and lives by the belief that “What God Has for Me It Is for Me”.  


    Tiesha believes that education is very important. She is currently pursuing a double Master Degree at Pfeiffer College and will continue to obtain her Doctorate in Theology. Tiesha has not only obtained her college degrees and currently has a full-time career as a Clinical Research Associate for Chiltern Oncology but she has also managed to become a successful business owner. She is the owner of Secret Treasure’s, The Red Carpet Café, It Works- Transform U MindBodySoul Wellness, and KnowYourSelfWorthTravel. Tiesha truly strives to adhere to God commandments to feed the hungry, clothes the naked and shelter the homeless. She is building a platform that will empower women of all ages to Know their SelfWorth and Know who they are in Christ and allow Him to begin the process of their MindBody&Soul being Transfomed2Purpose.
