Tonight's show is a repeat of a popular show from July 23, 2013. The topic was Trayvon Martin. Listen and reflect on today's concerns regarding the shooting death of Michael Brown.
The conversation will be guided by the DR. MICHAEL E. HODGE, Chair of the Department of Sociology at Morehouse College; the REVEREND THOMAS BOWEN, Chaplin of the Morehouse Alumni Chapter, DC and Minister of Fellowship and Outreach at Shiloh Baptist Church in Washington, DC; and MR. TOM BACOTE, Morehouse alumnus who is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, serving as the Country Program Director for the Southern Africa Office of the American Center for International Solidarity.
To some Trayvon Martin is the “other brother”… the unfortunate one, the one who got caught, the one who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and, to some, he is simply the one who was a victim in a rather tragic story. But are we missing a powerful truth… is Trayvon Martin your son or brother? Is Trayvon Martin America’s son? Does Trayon's story mirror hidden and blatant racism? Listen and decided for yourself. Call in and share your thoughts.
The Arizona Cardinals lost their third preseason game to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football. They also made their first roster cuts, trimming the roster to the required 75 players. Among the cuts were quarterback Ryan Lindley and kicker Jay Feely, who was beat out for the kicking position by undrafted rookie Chandler Catanzaro.
Jess and Seth talk about the takeaways from the game and comment on the cuts that were made. Were there any surprises? How are the position battles shaping up as the team heads into their final preseason contest?

Alexander O'Neal (born November 15, 1953) is an American R&B singer. He is best known for the songs "If You Were Here Tonight", "Criticize" and "Fake" and the duets with Cherrelle, "Saturday Love" and "Never Knew Love Like This"O'Neal was born in Natchez, Mississippi, but moved to Minneapolis when he was 20. He is an alumnus of Alcorn State University. He joined a group called "The Mystics" and played the local coverband circuit. O'Neal spent a short time in a group "Enterprise" before being recruited into Flyte Tyme, a band that included Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis and Monte Moir.
Later signed by Prince to the Warner Bros. label with their name changed to The Time, a disagreement with Prince led to O'Neal leaving the band and being replaced as lead singer by Morris Day. Allmusic profiler John Floyd asserts that O'Neal was ousted for "looking 'too black'",.
O'Neal immediately formed an R&B band called Alexander and recorded a 12" single, "Playroom," for a Chicago-based independent label, followed by the release of "Attitude" on the Rich Records Label. Three years later, in 1984, O'Neal signed a deal with Clarence Avant's Tabu Records. He did some backing vocals for other artists on the same label, including The SOS Band and Cherrelle.
O'Neal released his eponymous debut album in 1985. It included three singles that reached the top twenty of the R&B Singles Chart. The same year, he also scored his first R&B top ten single with "Saturday Love", a duet with Cherrelle from her High Priority album. "Saturday Love" song peaked at #2, and it also reached the top ten of the UK Singles Chart, peaking at #6.

At age 5, Tina Michelle had a near drowning experience in her family pool. When revived she could see "sparkling people" standing behind everyone. After numerous attempts of trying to describe these beings to her family, she gave up and learned to keep quiet. These "Beings", however, were always there with her. The Beings never actually spoke; they were just there. Between Rheumatic fever and another near drowning at age 17, she finally began to understand everyone did not see these Beings and they were there to love and care for her. But it wasn't until her last near death at age 26 while giving birth to her youngest daughter that her gift of Clairaudience (psychic clear hearing) opened up. When she actually began to hear her own voice in her mind saying very odd things, she thought she was losing her mind. When the events she was told about began to take place, she started to realize it was the "Sparkling" people speaking with her. Many times she would foresee events that came to pass, or would be given some wonderful insight into complicated life problems, she called this "figuring it out", others called it "second sight". Finally the day came when Tina's purpose was revealed to her. She was to take her gift into the world and help others with it. Being a small town wife in the Appalachian region of the U.S. did not bode well for an up and coming psychic. The Angelic realm had another ideas and opened doors for her she never dreamed possible. (Visit her website under ABOUT TINA MICHELLE to learn more of her lifelong work).
