Canada's Metis Indian History with Elder Martin Carriere

    in Religion

    Prerecorded...

Martin Carriere is currently writing a documented chronological story of his family going at least back to Muireadach Tireach mac Fiachu the 122nd King of Ireland. He is author of: Carrying the Chalice Forward and Other Secret Stories of North America

Stories of the Metis and our descent from the early Celts who traqvelled to and traded with the M'ikMaqs over 1,000 years ago and a summary of what seems to have happened since that time.

He says, "I am Metis yet I am also, Huron, Arendakohi, Wendat, Algonquin, Petit Nation Algonquin, Cree, Chippewa, Saulteaux, Ojibwa, Mascouten, Montagnais, Abenaqui, Nipissing and others just known as Amerindian."

"My belief is that our hearts are woven through the truth of all of our ancestors and each of us can only ever express the inherent wisdom of the dream while we remain connected through the creator to hear all of our ancestors."

"There is a large untold history of the hiding of the Irish Kings to avoid religious and feudal persecution that DNA research is helping uncover."

LOTL The Comfort Zone Welcomes David Morin. Debuts new hit single 'Life Goes On'

    in Music

David Morin releases the video for his debut single, “Life Goes On,” today. The newcomer garnered quick praise across North America and the UK upon the track’s release on itunes & soundcloud last month. The uplifting song is a strong representation of Morin and his music. His grooves might be smooth, yet his lyrics address protest: politics, justice, and inspiring social change.

“The video for ‘Life Goes On’ is really about the boy; a young Cree member navigating his hometown of Kahnawake,” states Morin. “I’m actually a quarter Metis, but that’s the subtle link between the two of us. At the start of the video, he’s visibly concerned, but he explores, he dances, he lights fireworks - he sheds the weight of whatever was holding him down by using his imagination and tackling the experiences his immediate world has to offer.”He continues, “That’s what ‘Life Goes On’ is about; yeah, it’s hard sometimes, but you can only count on yourself to discover all the things life has to offer. So, even though the video only shows the contrast between my experience and the boy’s, it’s the universal message of positivity through adversity that I think translates to the viewer, the listener, to anyone.”All Def Digital, brought to you by Russell Simmons, is hosting the video as part of “The Signal” series highlighting up-and-coming artists.

Pt 2 - SunBow True Brother: One United Nation for Great Earth Peace

    in Religion

We welcome back SunBow True Brother: One United Nation for Great Earth Peace.  Technical problems with BlogTalkRadio and Skype forced us to end our first show early.

Born of Metis origins, adopted in the Hopi Coyote Clan in 1987, I started on a spiritual quest at a young age and have walked on the sacred red road for over three decades. Blessed to meet many great Elders from several nations, who have provided teachings and guidance, for which I'm deeply grateful.

Involved in community building, organizing gatherings, international focalizer for the Rainbow Family, storyteller, writer, journalist, editor, networker, video maker mainly on Native topics, pipe and drum carrier, shared teachings and ceremonies from North to South America and in Europe, founder of One United Nation for the Great Earth Peace, and of the Ironwood Log Project to document Native wisdom.
