    Black Reconstruction #LaShawnAllenMuhammad 323.927.2913

    in Business

    Hosted By: LaShawn Allen-Muhammad

Who were the first Black Elected Officials? During the month of November, as the country gears up to re-elect or vote in the next wave of politicians, Black Reconstruction will revisit the Reconstruction era to pay homage to the Black Men who came before Obama.  During this tumultuous time, Blacks not only established townships, they also positioned themselves to be an integral part of government.

At a Glance.. In 1855, Brownhelm Township, founded by Col. Henry Brown,  gained notoriety throughout the U.S, when the township elected an African-American to government office.  The NY Syracuse Daily Journal, May 31, 1855 reported that John Mercer Langston was a fugitive slave who had been elected clerk.  Brownhelm's early residents had long been known for their strong anti-slavery stance; and Col. Henry Brown's home on the Lake Shore was often a final stop on the Underground Railroad, before reaching Canada by boat.    African-American Firsts: Government

Local elected official: John Mercer Langston, 1855, town clerk of Brownhelm Township, Ohio.

State elected official: Alexander Lucius Twilight, 1836, the Vermont legislature.

Governor (appointed): P.B.S. Pinchback served as governor of Louisiana from Dec. 9, 1872-Jan. 13, 1873, during impeachment proceedings against the elected governor.

U.S. Representative: Joseph Rainey became a Congressman from South Carolina in 1870 and was reelected four more times.

U.S. Senator: Hiram Revels became Senator from Mississippi from Feb. 25, 1870, to March 4, 1871, during Reconstruction.

There have only been a total of five black senators in U.S. history: the remaining two are Blanche K. Bruce [1875-1881] and Barack Obama

    LOVE's Evolution of F.E.A.R. Pt. IV w/host REVELATION aka & co-host GodIs L aka.

    in Spirituality

Please join REVELATION aka & co-host GodIs L aka of "Get Your, It Together!” Saturday, April 25, 2015 @ 10:am est. to 12:noon. This is an ongoing, continuing forum and part IV of “The Unconditional Love Factor, with F.E.A.R. being an integral part of the evolutionary process of Hue-Man BEINGS.” This particular show expands on the initial premise for what is the Universal Consciousness that is Intelligence streaming through us all since coming from and through the darkness. We’re broadening perspectives, stretching perceptions and understanding relative to the unlimited aspects of how to harmonize and balance our personal energies, along with the cosmic dimensional influences. This of course, has to be done with an enormous amount of focus on willingly choosing to willfully intend to direct, inspire and motivate with a heightened level of conscious awareness of the indwelling Spirit! Sincere intention magnifies the integrity of truth that magnetizes the initiator to the highest vibratory frequency, motivated by the level of consciousness and clarity of The All There Is! The sacred space of the heart will then homogenize and filter one up to the many protective cosmological attributes that are inherent, assisting in the evolutionary process of  individualized ascension as we expand in the presence of The ALL There Is, and as it expands within us all! Please journey with us as we peel back the layers of altered conscious and unconscious realities, to reveal conditioned and programmed states of mentally incarcerated realities that has shackled us to lies spawned from fears, that has generationally bound imaginations and have handicapped the will to distort reality. Call in with questions, comments, or just share in this discussion on the power of the freedom with The Unconditional Love Factor. 773-897-6555 blogtalkradio.com/gyit.

All Things Spiritual and Supernatural with Bill Cote, Greg Fields & Jay Worthey

    in Paranormal

On this episode of All Things Spiritual and Supernatural, your host Coyote Chris Sutton welcomes Greg Fields, Bill Cote and Jay Worthey of the Si-Si Wis Medicine Traditions.

Let Bill, Greg, Jay and Coyote Chris explain the ways of Si-Si Wis Medicine Traditions. These therapies are based on a spiritual view of life. Methods of healing include, but are not limited to, prayer, chanting, music, smudging (burning sage or aromatic woods), herbs, laying-on of hands, imagery, harmonizing with nature, dreaming, sweat lodges, developing inner silence, going on a shamanic journey, and partaking in ceremony.

An individual's connection to Nature and Mother Earth and communion with the spirit world is either in or out of harmony. The unique energies of the eight directions of the medicine wheel, as well as the sky, sun, moon, and earth, all play an integral part in Si-Si Wis medicine cosmology. Symptoms of illness are seen as connected with the spirit and energy. Rattles to break up blocks of dead or jammed energy and drums to align the person's spirit with the heartbeat of Mother Earth are sometimes used as a catalyst to help patients come back into harmony.

Learn about these traditions, how they connect with spirit and much more tonight on All Things Spiritual and Supernatural and don't forget to follow us on Twitter @AllThingsSAS for the latest in show news!
