Manna Moments: Manna for daily living.

    in Lifestyle

Manna Moment: Manna For Daily Living is a time set aside to provide motivating, encouraging and life-giving word of inspiration to help you get through your day.

Manna - What Israel called the substance they found in the morning when the due rose while in the wilderness. They called the substance manna because they didn't know what it was. God sent "bread from heaven" to feed them when food could not be found.

Moment - 1. A minute portion or point of time 2. a comparatively brief period of time.

God provided food for nurishment for the Children of Israel in the wilderness. He told them to take only what they needed for that day. (See Exodus 16:4, 5) So it is today, we desire to provide spiritual and emotional nurshment when you just can't find anything else to satify or nourish ... enough to get you thorugh your day.

Today's Manna Moment is based on Exodus 16:4-6, 12-15 and Philippians 4:5

    The word is MODERATION (Moderate)

Philippians 4:5 says, "Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand." (KJV)

"Let all men know and perceive and recognize your unselfishness (your considerateness, your forbearing spirit). The Lord is near [He is coming soon]."  Amplified Bible

Merriam-Webster.com defines moderation as avoiding extremes of behavior or expression :  observing reasonable limits

Strong's Concordance notes that moderation in the Greek means

    seeming suitable
    equitable, mild, fair, gental

Manna Moments: Food for Daily Living.

    in Lifestyle

Today's broadcast is being dedicated to Rev. Dr. W.D. Willis, my first pastor and person who sowed so much into my life. I honor God for his life and legacy of love, education, and community service. Truly his work speaks for him and I'm honored to have had such a great man in my life.

Our word for the day was going to be COMMUNICATION. But we're changing it to DEDICATION in honor of this great man.

Definition: 1.the quality of being dedicated or committed to a task or purpose.  "his dedication to his duties"

synonyms:commitment, application, diligence, industry, resolve, enthusiasm, zeal, conscientiousness, perseverance, persistence, tenacity, drive, staying power; antonyms:apathy, laziness, indifference

Merriam-Webster defines dedication as a feeling of very strong support for or loyalty to someone or something : the quality or state of being dedicated to a person, group, cause, etc.; self-sacrificing devotion <her dedication to the cause>

    Biblical definition:

DEDICATE, v.t. L. To vow, promise, devote, dedicate. See Class Dg. No. 12, 15, 45. The sense is to send, to throw; hence, to set, to appoint.

    1. To set apart and consecrate to a divine Being, or to a sacred purpose; to devote to a sacred use, by a solemn act, or by religious ceremonies; as, to dedicate vessels, treasures, a temple, an altar, or a church, to God or to a religious use.

    2. To appropriate solemnly to any person or purpose; to give wholly or chiefly to. The ministers of the gospel dedicate themselves, their time and their studies, to the service of Christ. A soldier dedicates himself to the profession of arms.
