Our guests this morning are Cindy Macha and Chris LeFave.
Cynthia Macha serves as Director for the Western Museum of Flight at Torrance Airport which is her vocation as well as her passion.
She comes from an aerospace family and is an aerospace industry veteran with a natural affinity for all things aeronautical.
Her devotion to the Western Museum of Flight stems from a far stronger motivation than that.
The work of the museum serves to preserve and promote the rich heritage of the aerospace industry in southern California and she feels strongly that we must accomplish this preservation before the opportunity is lost.
Chris LeFave is a commercial pilot who voluntarily flies for the Commemorative Air Force Museum.
The CAF is a non-profit museum which is headquartered in Texas but has over 125 airplanes on display throughout the US.
The plane he will be giving rides in this Saturday is based at the Inland Empire Wing of the CAF at Riverside Airport.
The plane is a North American built Harvard II. It was built in 1941 at Mines Field which is now known as LAX.
Chris is a Southern California native. He is an amateur aviation archaeologist and enjoys aviation history.
He flies multiple warbirds from the WWII era such as the T-6 and Stearman along with many antique airplanes from the 40's.
He currently lives near Upland, CA where he shares a 1941 Porterfield airplane at Cable Airport.
This morning, they’re going to tell us all about the T-6 Flight Experience taking place this Saturday, November 16 at Zamparini Field.

There is something magical about a cup of Tea.” At least that’s what Starbuck’s says. Tea has been declared the IN drink for 2014. In the rest of the world, tea has been the drink of choice since 2737 BC when first discovered by the emperor of China. The history of tea is interesting and we will touch on it. Even more interesting is how many kinds are made from one plant, plus, learning about all the choices we now have be it black tea or herb, fruit and even some made from vegetables. Our guest, Rona Tison, from ITO EN, knows teas. She’ll clue us in on its medicinal benefits and even introduce you to Matcha tea. Of course, we will spend time talking about the best ways to prepare and enjoy tea during the winter, spring, summer and fall – recipes!
