Michelle “Mickey Hall hails from Cape Cod Massachusetts but was born in Queens, NY. Adopted to a family from the West Indies, and the only child, Mickey grew up always surrounded by questions of not only “who she was” but also “why she was different?” While adapting to the quietness of Cape Cod from the streets of New York, she struggled every day to understand the feelings that were surfacing when she looked at other women.
It wasn't until she entered college, which she found herself surround by other women who felt the same, that she broke out of her shyness and grew into the strong, proud Lesbian she is today. Surviving unimaginable abuse at the hands of family members and even the label of the “Black Sheep” of the family to not having contact with family for over 30 years, Mickey has come full circle and has been having a wonderful time reconnecting with family members.

Thursday, August 14th I'll be releasing my new FREE E-book, Not-so-Patiently Waiting The E-Edtion. In it I discuss dating, relationships and the importance of self reflection. I'll also be starting an online Book Club in which readers can share their responses to the Reflection Questions at the end of each chapter.
In this episode I'll be reading a chapter of the book entitled Baby Mama Drama. So often we find relationships that result in child conception and subsequently baby mama/daddy drama. These people become bitter enemies and bash each other incessantly. It is the children who suffer the most. Let's talk about this phenomenon and how to end it.

About Gerald Alston:
As any R&B enthusiast will attest, the name Gerald Alston has always been synonymous with soul, elegance and sophistication. Born and raised in Henderson, North Carolina where both his mother and father sang
gospel music, Gerald was raised on the gospel music he heard in church and at home (his uncle, Johnny Fields is one of the Five Blind Boys of Alabama). Enroute to a college degree as a pre-med student with a music minor, the fates
intervened and Gerald left college to join The Manhattans as lead singer.
After sixteen years, Gerald left to pursue a solo career. His 1987debut album with Motown Records was entitled "Gerald Alston" followed by "Open Invitation" in 1990. His third album in 1992 "Always In The Mood" was a blend of classic R&B songs with 90's music and nuances. In 1993, Gerald signed with Scottie Brothers/Street Life Records and recorded
his debut album entitled "1st Class Only" which he believes is one of the best albums he recorded.

As any R&B enthusiast will attest, the name Gerald Alston has always been synonymous with soul, elegance and sophistication. The one voice you never get tired of.
Alston inherited some big shoes and has filled them admirably for over 17 years. Born in Henderson, North Carolina, Gerald Alston the son of Rev. J. B. Alston and the nephew of gospel great Johnny Fields of the Five Blind Boys of Alabama learned his trade in church. As a ten he formed Gerald Alston & the New Imperials, a group that performing both secular and religious music, called themselves The Gospel Jubilee when they appeared in churches.
During a local appearance, Alston met the Manhattans when they borrowed equipment from Alston’s band. When the Manhattans heard Gerald rehearing, they loved what they heard and asked the 17 year old to join the group. Alston took over as their lead singer in 1970. The group enjoyed enormous success in the 70s and 80s with songs such as: There’s No Me Without You, Wish That You Were Mine, Hurt, We Never Danced To A Love Song, Don’t Take your Love From Me, I Kinda Miss You and It Feels So Good To be Loved So Bad. Their 1976 single Kiss and Say Goodbye was both a number one R&B and Pop hit. The Manhattans won a Grammy in 1980 for the big hit Shining Star.
Lately, I've been so inspired by the women around me. The women I speak of are strong, hard working and creative. Their knowledge and diligence push me to greater heights. This series is dedicated to Women of Virtue. When I speak of virtue I speak not of one's sexual history or lack thereof. I speak of the woman of good character referenced in Proverbs 31. She is loyal, uplifting, honorable, nurturing and has an entrepreneurial spirit. For the next few episodes I will interview such women.
This week I will interview Onleilove Alston the CEO & Founder of Prophetic Whirlwind: Uncovering the Black Biblical Destiny. Listen as we discuss life, love and creative passion.
Let her own works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31:31
