The Sensational Joe Downing on Love-a-licious!

    in Entertainment

Joe Downing is a Country/Soul artist that knows how to rock and roll. Downing came up listening to everything from the Motown sound to the popular recording artists of today. He believes in the theory that great art can inspire great art, as he names some of his biggest influences such as: Sam Cooke, Tom Petty and Frank Sinatra, just to name a few. After his first release in 2010, “Music from the Row,” which had some classic Joe Downing songs, such as “Make This Night Our Bitch,” and “Can’t Take It With Me,” Downing found himself impressing more and more people at the Nashville writer rounds that he would play. He started to do more co-writing, and is now releasing his sophomore EP called “Scrapbook.” With songs like “Where I Come From,” “The You I Like the Best,” and Wakin’ Up,” it is easy to see that Joe Downing has grown as a storyteller, melody writer and all round artist. His soulful vocals and his groovy melodies make him an instant hit, no matter the venue. “Whether I’m playing for one person or thousands, I always try to give it my all, so that when the audience walks away, they say: ‘That Joe Downing guy… I’m going to remember him.’”

Stone-Rock to Gospel -Jerry Stone on Love-a-licious!

    in Entertainment

Love-a-licious welcomes upcoming artist Jerry Stone. In a world where everything is defined including music, Stone simply can’t be placed in a box or specific genre. Describing his music as “Christian with a Rock edge,” there’s not one specific category he can be placed in. Stone now wants to spread the message from his new single, “WAIT” that no matter what the problem, to just wait on the Lord and He will come through. Growing up in the musically infamous city of Dayton, OH, Stone (born Jerry Johnstone) has been around some of the most powerful musicians; such as the late, Roger Troutman learning and honing his gift. He’s played lead guitar in many of the local bands leading him to travel across the country and the world. Stone lived and breathed music which shows in his vocals, playing, and writing. After performing in the secular world for so many years, Stone finally answered the call over 15 years ago and gave his life completely to Jesus Christ. He now dedicates his music and gifts to God.  Although his message is that of hope and trust in Jesus, there’s just not a place to put this music. Effectively playing everything from Christian Rock to Gospel, it is Stones desire to reach across all boundaries to spread this message.
