Former Illinois running back/fullback Carey Davis joins Joe Lisi on The Weekly Bitz. Davis played from 2000-2003 and caught 114 passes for 751 receiving yards with 5 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,012 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground.
Davis was a tough hard nosed player that played the game with intensity and heart. Davis had a blue collar attitude that epitomized the Illini team. Davis played special teams and did the "dirty" work between the tackles. He was an outstanding blocker and utilized in the passing game because of his pass catching ability. Davis was an all-around back that was the ultimate team player. He played the game with great emotion and played every down with his best effort.
Davis became an undrafted free agent in 2004 and played in the NFL from 2004-2010 winning a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers in their victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Tampa Bay.
Bryan Kest has been practicing yoga since 1979 and has been teaching since 1985. He developed his unique, distinctive style of yoga, Original Power Yoga, in 1979. Over the years, this style, an amazing workout for the body, mind and spirit, has made him a well-known, popular teacher across the country and around the world.
His mainstream popularity is matched by an authentic foundation in the ancient practice of yoga and a long path of development as a yogi (a practitioner of yoga). At age 15, Bryan uprooted from his native Detroit home to make a life change in Hawaii. He moved to live with his father, a doctor, who understood the benefits of yoga. Like many of us, Bryan originally thought yoga was nothing more than strange contortions, but that changed when his father introduced him to a physical style of yoga called Ashtanga. This appealed to him immediately, and he soon observed great changes in himself, both physically and mentally. Yoga quickly became his passion, one that would take him to India for a year to study with the great yoga masters of the world, PattabhiJois. He has been continuing on his yoga path ever since.

Florham Park, NJ – We can’t be in a state of stress response all the time. When we’re thrust into a stress response, the hormone cortisol surges throughout our body and that chemical reaction can have physical consequences if activated too often, creating and perpetuating the conditions in our bodies that cause disease. But if our body can cause disease, surely it can heal itself as well. Indeed our bodies have natural healing abilities that allow our body, mind and spirit to quickly find balance.
Jeannette Fletcher Howard is the founder of Balance Your Yoga, an integrated healing practice specializing in helping people find physical and emotional balance. Through the practice of yoga and other energy modalities such as meditation, Reiki and EFT tapping, Balance your Yoga offers clients a comprehensive plan for a vibrant life and radiant health.
“I look out into the world and I see how much stress everyone is under,” says Jeannette. “I know what it’s doing to our bodies. So I consider myself a healing facilitator. My mission is to help people to heal themselves.”
As Yoga, Reiki, EFT, and other energy modalities become more popular and mainstream, many people are eager to teach these practices. While each teacher brings something a little different to offer, Jeannette takes a holistic approach, with an eye toward bringing her clients what they need, when they need it.
“Yoga brought me an awareness of my body and taught me what was possible,” says Jeannette. “Add a bit of meditation, Reiki or EFT tapping and it becomes something more. Clients leave a Reiki or EFT session feeling lighter energetically. They’ve been released from something, but don’t quite know what it is.”
