Our Summer Encore Series continues with Amy Beth’s intriguing conversation with noted journalist Chris Tomlinson, author of the compelling family history, Tomlinson Hill. A fifth generation Texan, Chris is a descendant of slave owners. Since childhood, Chris has wondered what that legacy meant to him, his family and to the descendents of the people his ancestors had enslaved, who had taken the name Tomlinson after Emancipation.
Before joining the staff of the Houston Chronicle, Chris was a war correspondent for the Associated Press. He spent eleven years covering Africa, Iraq and Afghanistan. His experience led him to believe “in revealing the facts, no matter how dangerous… In the same spirit of exposing injustices and atrocities where I find them I don’t turn away from those I found within my own family history.”

Nicholas Snow welcomes LGBTQI Activist Maurice Tomlinson, who hails from Montego Bay, to preview the October 25th, 2015 Montego Bay Pride, and to dicuss the cultural and political context in which the event is taking place. Visit the Montego Bay Pride Facebook Page.
The recent historic Jamaica Pride that took place in Kingston was an unqualified success. With public endorsements from the mayor of Kingston and the Minister of Justice, it is clear that the forward march for the full liberation of Jamaican LGBTI people is unstoppable. However, some persons from Montego Bay and western Jamaica were not able to participate in Pride Jamaica because of financial and other constraints. Many members of Jamaica’s LGBTI community are still only able to get entry-level positions because of SOGI stigma and discrimination. Therefore, they had limited time off and resources to travel to and stay in Kingston. A team of dedicated and motivated local Jamaicans are therefore organizing the first-ever Montego Bay Pride on Oct. 25! The team is led by internationally recognized LGBTI activist, Maurice Tomlinson, who also hails for Montego Bay.

Mind of Mansion Podcast Episode 140: Matt Kelley @fantasy_mansion explains why Demarco Murray is the best of flawed options at running back in 2015.
Even in his prime, Peterson couldn't soak up enough targets to be considered the top-projected PPR running back.
All stats and ranks should be PPR, but Adrian Peterson stats always manage to be non-PPR.
Norv Turner has not had a running back like Jerick McKinnon since LaDanian Tomlinson.
Fantasy writers fall into correlation traps when recounting a particular offensive coordinator's history of success with a particular position.
There will be enough volume in Philadelphia to support Demarco Murray as a fantasy RB1 and Ryan Mathews as a fantasy RB3.
Le'Veon Bell has both a heighted injury risk and substance abuse risk profile.
Mike Evans' beard is a red flag.

Join us this week as we welcome country music singer songwriter, Trent Tomlinson. Making his entry in the country music scene Tomlinson released his debut album COUNTRY IS MY ROCK in early 2006. The project produced three Top 40 singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart: “Drunker Than Me” at No. 19, “One Wing In The Fire” at No. 11 and “Just Might Have Her Radio On” at No. 21. While he may have temporarily stepped away from the recording studio, fellow award-winning entertainers proudly and steadily aligned with his talents as a sought-after song-crafter establishing Tomlinson as a “go to” hit maker. Trent now celebrates his return to the country music spotlight with his new single, “Come Back To Bed.” The track (co-written by Tomlinson, Ashe Underwood and Terri Jo Box) reveals a slight departure from the notorious party anthems, rough and ruckus storylines and “bad boy” image Tomlinson has been characterized by as this tune subtly introduces a more mature and sensual side. The single arrives from Tomlinson’s third studio album [from the EP anticipated in late Fall 2014 (Guiseppe Records)]. The single is currently available via iTunes and all other major digital outlets. We will talk to Trent about his upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at his music, feature his latest songs, and ask him to share his message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Trent Tomlinson at http://www.facebook.com/trenttomlinson and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with with Trent during the show (718) 766-4193. If you would like to participate in the live chat during the show, you must sign up on the show site first and then log in during the show.
