Join us in the Southern Roots Kitchen today with food blogger Kimberlee Stevenson.
Kimberlee S Stevenson is the owner of Southern Roots Kitchen; born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts where her love for being in the kitchen began at an early age. While watching her mother, aunts, uncles, grandparents and great-grandmother cook in the kitchen Kimberlee began to learn her way around the kitchen.
Attending the Springfield Girls Club Family Center for their after school program gave her the chance to learn even more about cooking and baking. As a member of the Busy Bees Cooking Club under the direction of the head cook Mary ‘Mama Morgan’ Kimberlee learned different kitchen essentials and baked her first batch of Peanut Butter cookies. Every chance she got Kimberlee spent time in the kitchen anxious to learn all that she could.
As years passed by Kimberlee continued to keep cooking close to her heart, baking cakes, pies and cookies for close family and friends. Stepping out on faith and with the support from family and friends, Kimberlee decided to turn her passion and love for cooking into her business, Southern Roots Kitchen.

Tune in as the Sistas chat with Russell Stevensen, author of For the Cause of Righteousness: A Global History of Black and Mormonism, 1830 - 2013. Russell's newest work seeks to explore the story of blacks and Mormonism through an intimate lens, focusing not only on the experiences of church leaders but also the ordinary Latter-day Saint: the day laborer nervous about his African ancestry, the West African woman establishing her own ‘Mormon’ congregation, the Pat Boone-loving Mormon missionary in Africa and the Black Panther musing on the Mormons’ wasted potential. Robert Orsi has argued that religion ‘comes into being in an ongoing, dynamic relationship with realities of everyday life.’ Race was both a spoken and lived experience. The Mormon people witnessed it, felt it, and absorbed it. But for the Mormon people, racism was also a conscious decision—and one that exacted a heavy toll during their epoch in the wilderness.
This Week on Real Men Speak, we are going to continue with the series, Man and His Family. We are looking at ways to be better as a man, with our families and ourselves. The series will help us with that. We need to understand our roles as men and ways to develop into such a man.
If you missed last week show, please go to our archive and listen and catch up on what you missed and join into this powerful conversation.

Artur Beterbiev made the 175-pound limit for the first time as a pro yesterday, and made a stunning debut at the weight, demolishing former titleholder Tavoris Cloud with four knockdowns in just over a full round of action, knocking out Cloud in the second.
Beterbiev (6-0, 6 KO) is a decorated amateur who last competed at the 2012 Olympic games as a heavyweight, losing to eventual gold medalist Oleksandr Usyk. As a pro, he's fought around 180-185 pound on the scales, and waxed overmatched foes. But even if one considers that Cloud (24-3, 19 KO) was long ago "exposed" as a more run of the mill fighter than once was hyped, this was an extremely impressive statement, as a pro novice totally overwhelmed a sturdy veteran. Unless something escapes me at the moment, Cloud had never been down before this, even last year against Adonis Stevenson, when he was creamed for seven rounds before the plug was pulled on that fight.
