The Bernie Sanders Campaign Post Mortem

    in Politics Progressive

On the April 27, 2016 episode of Liberal Dan Radio:

The Democratic Party nomination process is over. While not technically eliminated, Hillary's wins were so large yesterday that her pledged delegate lead is, for all intents and purposes, insurmountable. Last night his campaign shifted the discussion from that of winning the nomination to that of trying to get as many delegates to push the party platform leftward. And today, the Sanders campaign started laying off staff.

I will be discussing where the campaign went wrong, the benefits of their continuing to amass delegates, and some of the ridiculousness coming from the Bernie or Busters.

I will also discuss the GOP campaign. Cruz has named a running mate despite being mathematically eliminated from the first ballot. Trump steamrolled over the rest of the field making a 2nd ballot much less likely. And Trump also got a very fitting endorsement.

Those issues and more at 8pm central on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That's Right.

LIFE AID: BEAT WORLD CANCER Kickstarter 18 days to go!

    in Entertainment

The trigger for this project was the day when David Bowie died - Peter Cook appeared on CNN to comment. He was filled with a complex set of emotions - at some level he considered David Bowie immortal, having grown up and lived with his groundbreaking changes in our outlook on many things, not just music. With a heavy heart he went to London, quite unable to foresee what was about to happen.

After the CNN broadcast, some music friends contacted him about building a tribute concert. Through further conversations with Patti Russo, songstress with Queen, Meatloaf etc. and Sir Paul McCartney and Queen's Monitor Engineer John Callis, Peter decided to see if we could scale the approach to global proportions.

Peter's business skills, a passion for healthcare and music background together to organise a series of "Live Aid" concerts around the world, starting with "Rock Against Cancer" in May 2016 and scaling up to a series of major events in Summer 2017 all around the world, possibly culminating with something like The Glastonbury Festival to be the pinnacle of the project.

To do this, Peter created perfectly formed professional project team in place to raise the capital to run the main project. Hence the kickstarter project to be launched very soon.

Join and ask your friends to join the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BeatWorldCancer

Make your pledge now at: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1872510508/life-aid-lets-beat-world-cancer-together

    in Basketball

Despite nearly turning over half the team and adding two new starters to the rotation, no one has been more important to the success of the Charlotte Hornets this year than Kemba Walker. He's the focus of another clever campaign by the Charlotte Hornets who are lobbying hard for Candidate Kemba to be elected Most Improved Player of the Year. Dustin Phifer squares off with Justin Thomas of ESPN730 in a debate over whether or not Kemba deserves this year's award.
