The “Originator” and ”The Godfather of Urban Fashion” are some of the titles that adorn the thrown of Karl Kani. In 1989 the Karl Kani brand was launched by the intrepid designer who inherently believed in the American dream. The unchartered waters of urban design were pierced by the Karl Kani brand donning the hip hop style that intertwined high fashion and the streets. In its early years the Kani brand and names such as Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, Sean “Puffy” Combs, Snoop Dog, Lil Kim’ , Nas, Ludacris and Dr. Dre were inseparable. Beyond its beginnings, Karl Kani’s line took on a more contemporary route with Live Life. Major names such as Will Smith, Tara Reid and Kelly Clarkson, Mischa Barton and Ashlee Simpson in the early 2000s reflect this shift. With record breaking sales throughout the international market the the Karl Kani brand has now taken on a new course. Today, the brand reflects the indie street subculture of American urban hubs while still incorporating high fashion. The companies American re-launch in 2013 will once again change the trajectory of fashion. The Karl Kani brand has now transitioned from its days in the 90s to the urban chic look of today. The evolution of the Kani brand is now here.

Few Americans know that there was a moment in American history where an organic movement arose that challenged the corporate power structure that enslaved average Americans following the Civil War. The Populist movement developed during the 1880s among American farmers and grew to encompass a wide swath of Americans who demanded economic justice. The movement was a great influence in preparing Americans to demand that the government intervene to help them in the wake of the Great Depression.
We are now going through a depression that would dwarf that if the 30s were it not for the social safety net that Roosevelt began to build in an effort to not only save capitalism but to help millions of suffering Americans. The New Deal was the embodiment of much of the Square Deal that FDR's cousin Teddy fought for in a period that marked the rise of political power of Populism. Now the social safety net is being shredded, threatening to impoverish even more millions of Americans who have already been made poor by the bankster devastation of the economy in 2008 that was largely the result of the destruction of the Glass-Steagal Act by a Republican Congress and a Democratic President in 2003.
The banksters are still the enemy and the People must rise again to stop them, using lessons learned from the Populists applied with 21st Century tools. That is the topic of this interview with economic and political analyst Karl Eysenbach.
This show was rebroadcast on July 12 at 9 AM PST/ 12 PM EST on the Star Com Radio network.

Gerrymandering has made a mockery of the democratic process throughout the US. Engineering districts to benefit one party or the other has been raised to a fine art, making most of them safe for incumbents. Current members of Congress have over a 90% chance of being re-elected. Those who call to "throw all the bums out" generally seem to feel that their bums are the exception to the rule, not making the connection to why Congress as a whole has a 9% approval rating.
With the stunning defeat of House Speaker Eric Cantor by a candidate who spent little over 5% of what he did, it is evident that unified action by disaffected voters can affect elections. Citizens of Virginia's District 7 have shown both conservatives and liberals that they do not have to settle for the choices of the establishment in the Duopoly parties. The key to turning this apparent anomoly into a trend will be to get self-identified liberals and conservatives to agree on issues that they can unite on and use them to elect candidates who will represent the People and not special interests.
Poltical analyst Karl Eysenbach joins us once again to talk about how some activists are organizing in Eugene, Oregon to challenge the lock that party flacks have on the Board of County Commissioners. Their success in the recent elections holds lessons for everyone who wants to end corporate control at all levels of government, end the gridlock in Washington and Take Back America for the People.
