The Movie Geeks speak with famed comic actor Jon Lovitz (Saturday Night Live, A League of Their Own) about his new film Jewtopia, which releases in theaters and VOD on September 20.

John Smart began working on feature film in the Art department while still in college at the University of New Mexico where he received a BFA in theater. After a number of years working on such films as The Big Easy, Heathers, and Barfly - he decided to teach in Los Angeles and at school for teens who’d gotten in trouble with drugs. He became known for bringing film industry professionals to the school as guest speakers and mentors. Establishing a relationship between the school and the local film and TV industry that lasted long after he was gone. When John returned to working on films he dove into legal clearances. He’s worked on a long list of projects including: The Good Lie, Don Jon, 2 Guns, Shopgirl, The Hot Flashes, Linsanity, Looper, Bullet To The Head and approximately 60 other films, TV shows and DVD games. He loves clearances because he can both assist in legally getting a production difficult items they may want or need for a project - but more importantly a Clearance administrator is one of the last firewalls a production has avoid legal action - and a copyright infringement claim can be lethal for a film. Colleen Rennison is 25 years old, but has the vocal abilities and stage presence of someone who has been at it much longer. Her debut solo album is entitled “See The Sky About To Rain” and it was produced, recorded and mixed by Couch Kid Steve Dawson, who also plays guitars on all the tracks. This is one special lady with a great debut album.
David Michael Miller began singing, like many, in church. The Buffalo, NY native is also the front man for Dive House Union who made the semi-finals in the IBC this year. David has released his solo album, “Poisons Sipped” and we will talk about his journey and where he is headed.
Finally, Couch Kid Anni Piper returns to talk about her current tour of North America. Remember Anni has been on twice before, once in December of 2012 and then in April of 2013, when “Split Second” her album with Nicole Hart came out; which was a direct result of both them being on that December episode of Music On The Couch.
“Musician You Should Know”
This week on Sott Talk Radio we'll be talking to Jon Ryman. Over the course of his 46 years on planet earth, Jon has lived in or visited most countries and currently he resides in Portugal where he is experimenting with living without having to interface with the matrix. Jon is an accomplished musician, with 6 LPs, countless singles and a catalogue of 400 songs to his name, most of which are being exploited by major record labels. But it's not for his travel stories or musical talent that we are talking to Jon, but rather to discuss his excellent short documentary called 'White Widow' - The Samantha Lewthwaite Conspiracy.
The so-called "white widow" grabbed the headlines over a protracted period last year for her alleged leadership of the attack on Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya. Samantha Lewthwaite first rose to 'fame' as the alleged 'wife' of alleged London '7/7' tube bomber, Germaine Lindsay, and since then has been a veritable rising star in the phony world of Islamic terrorism, particularly in Africa.
As with so many other supposed 'Muslim terror leaders', the story of Lewthwaite appears to be one large fantasy that reveals disturbing insights into how British, Israeli and US intelligence agencies run the bogus 'war on terror' from behind the scenes.
Join the SOTT Team and Jon Ryman this Sunday, August 31st 2014 from 2-4pm EST (11am-1pm PST / 8-10pm CET/ 7-9pm GMT)
You can call in, join the show page chatroom, or email us with any questions/comments.

Jonathan Boone, global wildlife photographer and researcher, has studied the captive husbandry and propagation of geckos since 1979. His work began at the young age of 14, when he purchased his first geckos from a local pet store and attended monthly herpetological meetings at the Tulsa Zoo. His first geckos included leopard geckos and day geckos of the genus Phelsuma.
Since then, Jon's collection has expanded to include some of the rarest and most obscure geckos in the world. He has travelled globally, with field research emphasis in Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and northern and southern Africa. In addition to his extensive field research, Jon has published numerous articles in popular herpetological journals. He has also assisted other authors by sharing findings as well as photographs from his husbandry experience and field research.
Exploring new possibilities, Jon has pioneered several practices in gecko husbandry, including innovative cage design, nutrition and mimicking seasonal rhythms. To educate and inspire others with interest in reptiles, Jon has spoken at as well as coordinated herpetological conferences. Jon has been the first to successfully breed over 200 species of gecko, and has collectively bred close to 500 gecko species. Among his other major advances was his discovery that Colopus kochii eggs can take almost 2 years to hatch.
In his efforts to further scientific research, Jon has provided nearly two thousand specimen samples to scientists, taxonomists and systematicists around the world. These specimen samples have been used to create documentation on new species, to update documentation on existing species, and to provide new localities and distinguishing characteristics between gecko species.
