Talk About hosts Rez and Andy welcome #1 International Thriller author Jeffery Deaver to the show to talk about his distinguished writing career. Mr. Deaver is only the second American author ever to be commissioned to write a 007 novel, Carte Blanche in 2011. He weighs in on which actor he thinks most exemplifies the real James Bond.
Mr. Deaver has long been admired for his Lincoln Rhyme series, the first of which, The Bone Collector, was made into a blockbuster Hollywood movie starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. He has a new book in that series, The Skin Collector, coming out next month--May 2014. Mr. Deaver gives us a peek into the book and also shares his writing process and advice for others who may want to venture into fiction.

2014 was a year to remember.
It was the year that Black people woke up and began to push back against a system that marginalizes them and a system that supported the wanton murder of Black people by the police. While police have been abusing and murdering Black people for a long time, in 2014, Blacks began to protest after the justice system sat down and supported murder by cop. Black people stood up and launched the longest protest since the 1960s. When Blacks stood up, other people joined the protest—around the nation and around the world. And now, a change must come.
In 2014, hackers became revolutionaries, exposing racists in high places—particularly the film industry, which has been racist for a long time in practice, but has now been exposed for being racist in speech as well. This from an industry that thought it was okay to make a “funny” film about murdering the leader of a sovereign nation. A change must come.
2014 was a year of losses and a year of gains. It was a year of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer and a year of people getting tired of getting their asses kicked.
But I know, a change gone come.

It's the last show of the year and we'll be live for an after-Christmas show. My guest this week will be author Noah James Hittner. We'll be discussing his books: Something to Give Back, Beyond Victim and Villain & The Modern-Day Buddha.
The Modern-Day Buddha (MDB) is a handy reference guide which offers ten short and impactful techniques that anyone can use on-the-spot to provide a quick, wholesome, and inspiring way to travel through their day-to-day life experience. Quite honestly, it could be called a handbook for wholeness.
Each technique contains an anecdote, accessible insight, and simple suggestions for action steps. All-in-all, it was my intention that the MDB’s message be clearly conveyed in a way that is gentle, efficient, and intriguing.
