    What Is Pride?

    in Spirituality

Pride is defined as having a great opinion of oneself. Pride is also being happy with who you are. The former can make a person become insensitive to others and their feelings. The latter can be folks who are comfortable in their own skin. June is pride month in many places around the world. As people who transgender, gay, lesbian. bisexual, queer and other gender variant people celebrate their uniqueness, I am reminded that God created each of us in his own image. Each one of us has been created as we are. Each one of us has a story to tell. No one should ever be of the way God made them.

    Pell Grants For Inmates! SMDH

    in Politics Conservative

President Barack Obama and his administration support taking Pell Grant money from veterans and giving it to prison inmates.  This is simply despicable to me and it should be to you as well!

We all should be outraged at this proposal.  Do we really want our tax dollars taken away from the people that put their lives on the line to protect this country?  The VA is in enough turmoil right now.  Veterans are not receiving adequate medical care right now because of scandal surrounding a secret list of patients waiting for care.

This is an insult to all of the men and women that wear the military uniform.  How can any of us even consider deferring money from our veterans in order to give it to people that are being punished for crimes committed in this country?

Al Sharpton Says the Texas Floods Are God's Rebuke!

Al Sharpton has made another ridiculous accusation and blamed the floods in Texas on climate control and God's rebuke.  He has made statements like this in the past over natural disaster.  This time even the left wing media is calling him out on this.

It is a wonder to me how he is able to hold on to his job at MSNBC after such an insensitive and inflammatory remark.  Sharpton has one of the lowest rate shows on that network and no major sponsors.  Who does Al have something on in order to keep his position?  Further more why has he had access to the president even more than some of the cabinet?

?Was It A Good Move for Carly Fiorina to Crash Hillary's Event?

Many are saying that it was a mistake for Carly to try and upstage Clinton yesterday.  She staged a press conference outside of the hotel where Clinton was speaking.  Does any one believe it when she said she had this even scheduled for months?

    ?

Gordon Gekko is Wrong, Greed is not good but it may be Necessary

    in Religion

For those of you who may not know and ask the question who is Gordon Gekko?  Gordon Gekko was a character made famous by Michael Douglas in an Oliver Stone film called “Wall Street” in 1987 but what made Gordon Gekko more famous was his saying which many have embraced and swear by today.  The character said that greed was good and since then many have been trying to prove this statement.  Most dictionaries define greed as “an excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth” and in that regards many say this is what makes it bad and not a good thing.  They say greed makes one selfish and insensitive to the needs of others because they are so consumed with their needs only.  They say that greed leads many to risk their very soul to obtain that high again and again never getting enough of living by a means envied by others.  I must say I agree with many of these takes and know deep within my heart of hearts that greed is and never will be good, but by the same token, I also know that greed is and always will be necessary.
