Work zones pose challenges for drivers. When drivers come to a work zone they need to understand the messages that they are receiving from signs, roadway devices, and other visual cues that create the need for them to change their driving behavior. In today’s distracted environment, physical changes to the roadway such as reduced lane width, abrupt lane shifts and short interstate ramps can complicate driving.
Work zones pose challenges for emergency responders. Often work zones create confined spaces for emergency responders to do their own work in. In some cases, crews have to respond in the opposite direction of travel, they have to gain access to work areas, and they have to be sure to pre-stage equipment. Coordinating with construction crews is a secret to success and the Iowa Department of Transportation has tapped into this secret.
In this episode of TIM Network Podcasts, John Wilson with the Iowa Department of Transportation will talk about their Traffic Critical Projects Program.
After a serious cybersecurity incident, everyone will be looking to you for answers -- but you’ll never have complete information and you’ll never have enough time. So in those heated moments, when a business is on the brink of collapse, how will you and the rest of the board room executives respond?
Wouldn’t it be nice to know ahead of time? That’s the purpose of incident response war gaming. In such an exercise, an organization’s key leaders must guide their business through the rocky days following a major security breach, with all the media pitfalls, law suits, sales hits, morale slumps, stock dives and other threats that may come with it.
On the next episode of Dark Reading Radio, learn how war gaming works and hear some major lessons learned from these exercises. Our guest will be Emily Mossburg, who leads the war gaming efforts for Deloitte Cyber Risk Services. Join us at Wednesday, May 27 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The December 11, 2014, episode of American Heroes Radio features a conversation with Sergeant Gary Bush, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (ret.), Detective Michael J. Saxe, New York City Police Department, (ret.), Dr. Alison Brown, CEO ENCOMPASS, LLC and Mike Ohren, Vice President, ENCOMPASS, LLC.
About the Guests
While critical incidents are commonplace within the realm of law enforcement, providing an effective response is not. During the interview, we will explore a few scenarios that span the career of two law enforcement professionals; Sgt. Gary Bush (Retired Marion County Sheriffs Office/Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Detective Michael J. Saxe Retired New York City Police Department) A couple that are typical/expected in a law enforcement career and the other, an atypical event that we pray will never occur again. We will look at the effects this had on each law enforcement professional. Sgt. Bush had no CISM or Peer Support services offered. Detective Saxe had the services available. What are the results during and following each of their careers? Critical insight will be provided by Dr. Alison Brown and Mike Ohren, two mental health professionals and co-founders of BACKING the BADGE, the law enforcement Division of ENCOMPASS, LLC. Sgt. Gary Bush and Det. Michael J. Saxe are the actual professionals that dealt with the situations that will unfold in front of the audience. Therefore, the narrative is very moving, personally and professionally engaging and atypical of most others offered. This is a rare opportunity to see the effects that cumulative stress, administrative issues, and critical incidents actually have had on law enforcement professionals.
TODAY WE ARENT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR CHURCHES TODAY
We think we can #solve things by silence and that is not the way
Today we try and solve the issues in the church and that at times makes it worse
We need to take pride in our churches. South Carolina didn't have a reason and we shouldn't either
I bet there are crimes going on but we just don't know about everything that is going on even if they don't hit the front lines of the church
Today we try and get along with certain folks and we just can't get along
Today that is why so many go to church online simply because we think it's a little safer and better but at the end of the day we still don't understand why we just can't get along with each other in life ministry and more

On October 4th, 1967, Canada experienced its own "Roswell Incident". Witnesses claimed, at that time to see a UFO crash in the night skies of Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia. It was a clear night, in an area where everybody knows everybody. For over 20 years, Don Ledger (www.shagharbourufo.com), has been researching the incident. From divers who searched underwater for crash evidence, to eye witness and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) accounts of what happened in this sleepy fishing village on Canada's East Coast.
To this day, people are unsure whether it was a secret military aircraft or something from outside of this Universe that crashed into the Harbour that night. What we do know is this? There's not a trace of evidence left in the waters of where this craft went down. Was it a UFO? What it something else? Mr. Ledger joins Spaced Out Radio to discuss the facts about what happened in Nova Scotia.
The Rendlesham Forest incident is the name given to a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights and the alleged landing of a craft or multiple craft in Rendlessham Forest, Suffolk England, in late December 1980 just outside RAF Woodbridge used at the time by the U.S. Air Force. Dozens of USAF personnel were eyewitnesses to various events over a two- or three-day period. It is the most famous UFO event to have happened in Britain and it has been compared to the Roswell UFO incident in the United States, and is sometimes referred to as "Britain's Roswell".
Tonight Voices From The Dark discuss this incident.
