MaryLovesJustice Prayer Meeting, Aug. 1, 2015

    in Politics Progressive

Pray for justice each Sunday night at 9pmPST with MaryLovesJustice Prayer Meeting participants by calling (818)572.2947. Over June and July, we discussed (a) Christian hypocrisy regarding gay marriage, (b) why Christians need not forgive unrepentant people who oppress them, and (c) the fact that Christians must fight like the children of Hebrew slaves to obtain and keep things that God already gave them. Tonight we will again address whether Christians have a godly right and duty to ignore/oppose government dictates that are issued in opposition to the stated will of God.

We study the Word for clear understanding of what the Lord said about the circumstances that confront Christians in these Last Days. We understand that our position is to occupy until He comes and apply ourselves to doing the Word rather than being hearers only.

Graphic Policy Radio Talks Mad Max: Fury Road

    in Pop Culture

This Monday Graphic Policy Radio goes to the movies to discuss George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. 30 years have passed since the last Mad Max movie, but Miller has returned to his apocalyptic world with new leads, in one hell of a movie. Joining us to discuss the film are Steven Attewell and Dirk Lester.

On the show we're excited to discuss not just the visual extravaganza, and practical fx, but also what the film has to say about women in action movies, its handling of sexism and slavery, and the global climate apocalypse.

Steve Attewell – A political & union activist, Steve holds a PhD in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is the founder and writer of Race for the Iron Throne as well as The Realignment Project
Dirk Lester - The world’s 3RD deadliest #ComicbBook geek, film fanatic, political junkie, music nerd, #digital sherpa, #HumanRights activist – and yeah, it is all connected. You can see what Dirk has to say about the film here.

So listen in and Tweet us your thoughts about the film to @graphicpolicy

Mary Diaz and Human Conflicts Org Demand More Paroles 05/08/2015

    in Politics Progressive

Mary Diaz and Human Conflicts Org. demand is on air Fridays at 3pmEST. Call 347.857.3293 to join the discussion. We demand compassionate release for elderly and terminally ill prisoners and paroles for all inmates who served their minimum sentences unless parole boards prove that releasing such inmates would endanger the community. Taxpayers should not continue paying to warehouse rehabilitated inmates who have served their minimum sentences just to enrich private prison owners. Mentally ill prisoners should be transferred to mental hospitals and stabilized, then released under assisted outpatient treatment (AOT) programs that mandate their continued psychiatric treatment and provide them with subsistence assistance. Americans with mental disabilities should not be punished as criminals in the nation's prisons and jails where hundreds of thousands of them suffer in solitary confinement torture, deprived of visits with their families for years and some for decades. Human Conflicts Org. demands human rights for prisoners in the USA.

Power concedes nothing without a demand; it never has, and it never will. ~Frederick Douglass
