Andre Controversa Presents: Wedding Cakes For Gays and Fetal Homicide Bill

    in Politics Conservative

Hello everyone, this is Andre Traversa, otherwise known as Andre Controversa, spreading controversy wherever I go.

We have a packed hot show tonight, only an hour long, but with two hot segments.

Up first will be Melissa Klein.

Melissa is one of the first original bakers who bravely refused to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple and is being fined by an administrative law court in the state of Oregon.

No trial, no jury, no due process; just an un-American assault on religious liberty.

As many of you know, GoFundMe took down her account. Her company is called Sweet Cakes by Melissa.

But thankfully, she has found funding through an alternative site called Continue to Give, a service that helps people give to charities and Christian ministries.

We will have one of the founders of that ministry on the air as well. That will take up the first 30 minutes.

The second half of the show will be taken up by a hot debate. We will be joined by Kathy Alderman of Planned Parenthood Always Votes Colorado.

The topic will be the Democratic defeat of a fetal homicide bill. Opposing her on this issue is Polly Lawrence, Republican state rep and assistant House minority leader.

Tune in tonight at 9-00 Ct at www.blogtalkradio.com/andrecontroversa.

Let's get some callers on this one. Please call in at 914-803-4350. I look forward to a hot show.

Another Fork in the Road: Juliet Madsen, Brain Injury Survivor, USA Troop

    in Education

Juliet Madsen has served in the US Army since she was 17-years old. She was involved in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. While serving her country, Juliet suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and at least one stroke, which changed her life forever.

Every TBI survivor and caregiver has encountered a fork in the road that has diverted his or her life-plan. A car accident, a fall from the roof, doing one more chin-up, an IED blast, or a door literally slamming one in the face are just some causes of traumatic brain injury. College, walking down the aisle in the perfect dress, or the coveted job quickly slips from reality as dreams turn to struggle. These unexpected life-happenings that divert one from his or her chosen path in life can be devastating.

But as Yogi Berra once said, “If you come to a fork in the road, take it.” Life is all about choices!

Jenny Marshall Williams- Domestic Abuse Survivor

    in Women

Tune in and support Ms.Jenny Williams. Jennie will share her story with us in hopes of, helping other women to get OUT of their situation. I read an interesting article from the Huffington written by-  Alanna Vagianos.  This is ALARMING

The number of American troops killed in Afghanistan and Iraq between 2001 and 2012 was 6,488. The number of American women who were murdered by current or ex male partners during that time was 11,766. That's nearly double the amount of casualties lost during war.

Women are much more likely to be victims of intimate partner violence with 85 percent of domestic abuse victims being women and 15 percent men. Too many women have been held captive by domestic violence -- whether through physical abuse, financial abuse, emotional abuse or a combination of all three.

I will continue to use my platform to give anyone a voice to speak out and to help others.

Cam's Corner - The Story of a Young Stroke Survivor

    in Education

Ray is a young stroke survivor.  It has been found that he was suffering from a rare condition called thoracic outlet syndrome or TOS for short. This caused an aneurysm to form in his subclavian artery.  TOS sent him through a round of surgeries and stays in the hospital.  Doctors started going over all his brain scans and investigating and found by comparing brain scans done before that he had suffered a stroke sometime around August of 2011.  He recovered.  then one morning with a horrible headache that would not go away, it was also accompanied by nausea and uncontrollable vomiting. He stayed home but on the 2nd day the pain was so unbearable and that he decided to call the doctor and was told to get to the ER. He went and the last thing he remembered was a voice saying, “you have significant bleeding in your brain and we are not equipped to handle this.”   He was having a hemorrhagic stroke. They had to do an emergency craniotomy to drain the blood from his brain.

This show is about stroke and brain injury and is for anyone interested in stroke with bits and pieces thrown in for inspiration, ways to be healthy, less stressed and more.  I want to be here to share and to lift up other stroke survivors or warriors.  I want to help you find out there are others going through what you have gone though.  Maybe not the same journey but a survivor none the less.  To give positive information, inspire and embrace what you have and continue moving forward.

Survivor in Southern California Infamous Sexual Assault Trial Shares Her Story

    in Christianity

Greetings to all God's people. I pray continue blessings over your life and family. Remember you are important to God and it does not matter what happens God is in control. My guest this evening is a true survivor of the most Infamous Sexual Assault Trials in history.

Alisa Kaplan is not a name one might recognize initially, but she is the survivor involved in one of the most infamous sexual assault trials in SouthernCalifornia history. Having remained relatively silent over the last 13 years, she is now telling her story in her first book Still Room For Hope: A Survivor's Story of Sexual Assault, Forgiveness, and Freedom

In Still Room For Hope,Kaplan shares the dramatic account of what happened to her, the shame and humility that nearly destroyed her, and her journey on the road to becoming more than just a victim.

In 2002, three men forever changed 16-year-old Kaplan's life when she became an innocent victim to a brutal gang rape that was captured on tape. As if the grotesque actions against Kaplan were not horrific enough, this vibrant, young teenager lost all sense of self-worth, became crippled by drug abuse, depression and homelessness, and soon found her entire world falling apart. Come join me as we journey along of Alisa I know you will be moved by her story.
