Grant also get's his chance to rant as he always does. You won't want to miss this show! Feel free to call in as well and ask questions of the guys!
We're back! After a month off the air, Mrs. Barbara Moore and City On A Hill is back. We will take a lookk at 2014 in review of what has been some of the highlights of the year. We will speak about what is ahead and hope that you along with us will be encouraged and emboldened to fight for America's future being played out in the minds of children. It is not a fight we want but unfortunately this is what happens when free p eople forget that the price of their freedom is vigilance. There being informed is most important as the other sides uses lack of information or access to the truth as a prime tool. Funny how things do not change--it worked in the garden of Eden and it still works today. Join us as together we can make a difference.
Bax takes over the show while Grant is still out on Paternity leave. Today's show looks back at how week 12 in the NFL went and looks even harder at how the Green Bay Packers faired against the Minnesota Vikings. Bax is also joined by Aaron King and Megan Landvatter. The gang closes the show with a rousing game of "Fact or Fiction." You won't want to miss out! Feel free to call in during the show as well!
Got a spouse who's into Reptiles? Hey, don't laugh! It happens all the time. Sometimes, your mate's 'other' passion can grow on you to a point where you suddenly have something really cool in common besides the burning flame you share for each other. There are lots of folks out there that put the 'mom and pop' in a mom and pop business, but Grant and Mary Hubbard don't just keep the wheels turning at Wreckroom Snakes, they truly enjoy every minute of it. CK catches up with the Hubbards to see how splitting up the workload with well defined tasks that play to their respective strengths helps Grant and Mary get 'er done, and have some fun, all at the same time.
Some of you may have attempted to listen to this show on 10/5/2014. That show took place, but was never recorded by blog talk. This episode is the re-do of that ill-fated show. Hope you enjoy.
As part of the “Living a Life of Art” series, we’re focusing on a wide variety of female artists whose life and work stands out. Today, we’re talking to Alexandra Grant, a text-based artist who uses language and ‘networks of words’ as the basis for her work. She explores ideas across a variety of mediums, including drawings, paintings, sculpture, and via books. She ‘maps language’ via intricate wire filigree sculptures and large-scale drawings. Some of the basic queries that fuel her work are: How do we “read” and “write” images? How does language place us? What is the role of the hand in a world dominated by electronic communication?
