SORT BY Relevancy
I came up with this topic through watching a sermon about forgiveness. The pastor talked about guilt and how it is an oxymoron to be a guity Christian. God has been drilling that into me recently because he knows how much unforgiveness to ourselves and essentially others messes up our walk with him.
There is a good thing about guilt that brings sorrow when we are convicted and we come to God in repentance, but there is a bad type of guilt that brings a different type of sorrow. I have experienced both, worldly sorrow before I came to Christ and unfortunately both as a Christian.
2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death."
To enter into successful recovery one must possess Godly Sorrow. 2 Corinthians 7.10 gives an excellent comparison of Godly Sorrow verses unproductive damaging Worldly Sorrow. To understand what is required to recover from addiction or destructive lifestyle, listen.

The Knight in Shining Armor is a fabulous image of Might. It speaks to chivalry, integrity and valor. But to what end? For what purpose? For what reason does a mighty man exist. you were created to give your life. A Father is a man who has learned to give his life for others. A Mighty Man of God is a man who gives his life with strength, honor, and passion. A Mighty Man of God Protects those he Loves. His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.
To be honorable is to be kind, genuine and empathetic without expecting a reward for your behaviour. It’s a rare combination of virtues, but with practice anyone can be honorable. Do you want to be the type of person who stands up for your beliefs instead of cowering, who rescues your friends when they need you, and who’s known for being an upstanding citizen? Start by doing little things, like showing up when you say you will or asking someone if they need a hand. When you practice living honestly in everyday ways, and letting people know you have their backs, being honorable will start to feel like second nature.

We live in a world that put a lot of emphasis on possession or popularity. How much money does a person have? Is he or she famous? How much power or authority do they carry? God asks questions like: Is the person holy? Is he or she seeking to follow me? Are they really striving to be a Godly person? Are you? Do you strive to be more like the One who laid down His life for you? Are you striving to be more like Jesus?

Many people are sorry only for the effects of their sins or for being caught . That is sorrow without repentance. Both Peter and Judas denied Christ . Peter had remorse and repented of his denial of Jesus . Judas was bitter and took the action of suicide . One repented and was restored to faith and service . The other took his own life . 2 Corinthians 7:10 says '' Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret , but worldly sorrow brings death . " Do you have a hatred for sin , a righteous fear of God and a desire to right all wrongs ? Are we confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord , but not believing in our hearts what Jesus really did for all of us ?
