Welcome, my brothers and sisters. Let's continue our talk about the fantasy world we create by wearing the rose-colored glasses of the ego.The glasses we put on ourselves to shield us from the truth that we don't want to see, to cover up the pain, the sadness, and the suffering that we feel as we go through life experiences pushing down those feelings and this produces the fragmented parts of our soul. We think they are forgotten, yet they creep up in our lives as we make choices uncon
Billions of people all over the world wear corrective eye glasses. Chances are that you do, or will have to in the future for reading and close work. But what if you couldn't get access to them, due to the cost or the lack of trained opticians who can determine the level of correction you need? Imagine those children not being able to see to learn properly in school. Imagine those people who cannot hold a job, or perform independent tasks due to eye problem. The proble
Cash Money artist and West Coast rider Glasses Malone talks to us about Damn Fool! You may know Glasses from his work with Tech N9ne on "Keep It One Hunit" and Jay Rock on "Dollars and Sense". Glasses was also on the Independent Grind Tour last year. Now he's featured on the hard-hitting track "They DNT Want It" from Big Scoob's upcoming Damn Fool. We're going to talk to him about the track, working with Scoob, and his upcoming projects.
When it comes to business plans, most business owners don’t realize that it’s not about the plan, it’s about the act of planning. Don’t get stuck navigating obstacles while planning, put on your rose-colored glasses and think “Perfect World”. Join me and my guest Susan Swartzwelder as we explore this critical topic. Susan is a small business specialist serving the special needs of start-up companies and growing businesses ready to take a fresh approach to reinventing themselves. Since 2010, Susan has been developing new workshops to teach simplicity around business and strategic planning. Her mission is to get owners to focus on the action rather than the object. And she believes if you aren’t having fun, you should change your approach. In June 2011, Susan launched a networking group for business women in Geauga County called The Red Key Network. Its primary function is to support women in business in the local community. The group has grown from 10 to 70 members in just 18 months. Today's show is sponsored by The Opportunity Network. This structured B2B referral program is enhanced with peer discussions around business topics. Visit Opportunity Network to find a chapter near you.
We will talking to Kelly Coty of Lookie Lous and she will be talking about both marketing, financing and her product on the Thursday program. Kelly is the owners of Lookie Lous which produces a alternative to reading glasses.
This is one of our Access calls. Access, as you know is our way to describing the calls that discuss alternative Access to Capital. In this particular case, I will be talkiing to Kelly about her choice and experience with IndieGoGo, a crowdfunding resource for entrepreneurs.
We will also be talking to her about her product which is an intriguing look into what I believe will be a problem going into the future. Most if not all of us stare at a computer screen all day. Will this help or hurt our overall eye health. Ladies and gentlemen, I don't think it is going to help us one bit. So as we move forward, we'll need to look at things like these, especially if we need to function in the information age.
Obviously, we're meeting with an entrepreneur that's not necessarily from Central Pa. That means that this particular guest must meet the criteria of being able to show us something that we don't see alot of here in Central PA or we haven't discussed alot.
So, if you're one of our guests from Central PA, I hope that you'l find this conversation useful. If you're looking at crowdsourcing or crowdfunding, you'll almost certainly want to be with at at 10 AM EST. This subject isn't peculiar to our region of the state, but we will need options like this in order to build and grow businesses here in the midstate that mean give us the ability to create jobs and establish communities.
It is a mission of our show to support and establish small businesses here in the midstate. As a matter of fact, you'll want to pay attention to our posts called My Year of Buying Locally.
