    Indie Books #91 (Geoffrey Storm)

    in Books

Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.

Author Geoffrey Storm joins me this week to talk about his book - Progeny of Gods: Vertuém Destiny.

Greyson is a green-eyed misfit, teased all through his childhood for being some sort of demon, the only kid without brown eyes. Now 19, Greyson travels to the Kingdom of Viæden, an ancient and secluded realm where trees grow to be seven miles tall. There, he discovers his eyes mean that he is a vertui: something more than human, destined to play a major role in the fate of the world. But will it be for good? Or evil?

The truth is never black and white. And on his first day as a Royal Guard, Greyson accidentally releases the kingdom's most dreaded memory: Stiqula, a monster sealed away by a goddess long ago. Born again, Stiqula strikes a deal with an evil god to end the world, and in return be reunited with his love. But is their reunion worth the world's destruction? And will Greyson discover his true destiny in time to stop him?

Beautiful Holiday Electric Fiddle by Geoffrey Castle

    in Music

Minstrel and Muse is kicking off the holiday season with the music of world renowned electric violinist Geoffrey Castle and his amazing album Underhill's Angel. He shares the beautiful stories and inspirations behind the songs and also shares his favorite Christmas traditions.

Order the CD for yourself or as a gift for someone else.  It's timeless.

Geoff started out as a street musician in New York City and Paris and he rose to play in the Tony Award winning Broadway production of M. Butterfly. A theme of Castle's career is to destroy people's pre-conceived notions of what is possible on a violin. Geoffrey Castle has also managed to share stages with an illustrious group of musicians including Blues Traveler, all of the original and current members of Heart, Buddy Miles, and Alan White of Yes. Underhill's Angel is about tradition and 2000 years of Christmas celebrations.

    Geoffrey said:

"I wanted to make a CD with songs that predated the commercialization of Christmas. Melodies that are 200, 300, 400, 800 years old. A CD with deep spiritual roots, and a sound that feels right now, full of inspiration and improvisation. Eric Robert and I went into the studio with Grammy award-winning bassist Garey Shelton and these ancient melodies—some of which will be familiar, and some that I am sure will become new favorites—and we followed our own path."
