This week on Philly Pressbox Radio, former Eagles special-teamer Dennis Franks joins Bill Furman and Jim "Chet" Chesko to discuss the prospects for the Birds under new head coach Doug Pederson, what the team might do in the offseason and the outlook for Super Bowl 50 between the Broncos and Panthers. Franks will also talk about his three seasons with the Eagles (1976-78), his friendship with Vince Papale, and playing for the legendary Dick Vermeil. Also on the agenda: some Flyers and 76ers talk, plus our Philly sports trivia question and prize giveaway courtesy Carl's Cards & Collectibles, Inc. This week's prize: the classic "Last Laugh" 8 x 10 picture of Franks and Papale (autographed by Vince).

Join us this evening as we expose the persecution and false charges levied against Cary Crittendon in California. Cary is currently held at Elmwood Correctional Facility charged with parole violations (non-specific). A May 4th hearing has been scheduled to allow the prosecutor time to fabricate other charges. The intent? To sentence Cary to a long period in prison for exposing the corruption of a sitting judge with a long history of corruption.
Later in the show: Doug Franks will join us to talk about the recent victim's symposium that took place in Florida where families that had been targeted had an actual opportunity to speak at length about the abuses they had endured at the hands of predatory guardians and the infamous BAR Association, along with the corruption of the probate courts facilitated by hand-picked "judges".
Should be an interesting show!

It's so wonderful to welcome back Veronica Nunn! Not only a tremendous talent, but a Friend with a capital F :) One of the coolest stories that yours truly has heard since hosting this show: a young girl from Little Rock, Arkansas, decides to move to The Big Apple. Completely focused, she lands a job and an apartment in two days! Within a year or so, she meets George Walker, AKA "Big Nick." And this beloved legend gave V the tools that she needed to thrive in New York. He made SURE that everybody knew who she was. So, her beautiful journey began. Singing at clubs all over town - while learning the ropes from seasoned pros. And OH those pros! Veronica has worked with an incredible array: from Eddie Harris to Sting.
But here's the thing about Veronica. As much as she wanted to become involved in the music scene in the city of her dreams, she also wanted to explore her horizons in other ways. She turned down TWO scholarships - from Berklee and Julliard - in order to pursue Theology at Lehman College in the Bronx. That says quite a bit. V has been immersed in her Buddhist faith for quite some time - and it has guided her through some challenges in life that would have toppled others. She sees a thread in the universe that sews people together. And she knows that she is blessed to have a gift in music to enhance that unity.
After being seriously involved in various musical endeavors from the 70's to the 90's, Veronica was asked to join Michael Franks and his band. What a wonderful collaboration that has been! Their voices have blended seamlessly for as long as my only son has been on this earth. And V made it a point to honor her boss by giving us "The Art of Michael Franks."
ART is what Veronica Nunn does. Even when she speaks :) Listen on 1/28 and you'll hear
The latest on the Eagles, the Super Bowl outlook, and some Phillies and SIxers talk, too, as Philadelphia Inquirer award-winning columnist Mike Sielski joins Bill Furman and Jim "Chet" Chesko on this week's Philly Pressbox Radio Roundtable. Our pal Steve Cwitkowitz stops by, too, with his views on the Flyers and to fill you in on an upcoming special appearance by a popular former Eagle. We wonder what you'll think of our Super Bowl predictions! Oh, we didn't have a winner last week with our Philly sports trivia question, so we'll have the same prize giveaway this week - an autographed 8 x 10 pic of former Birds Vince Papale and Dennis Franks ("Last Laugh") - courtesy Carl's Cards & Collectibles, Inc.

With so many organizations eager to embark on big data initiatives, some are establishing big data teams in isolation, away from existing analytics resources. That could doom the big data strategy to failure.
Bill Franks, author, thought leader, and chief analytics officer for Teradata, has noticed a key flaw in the big data approaches for too many organizations. He says that one of the most common mistakes organizations make as they try to incorporate big data into their analytics processes, is that they consider big data as having a completely separate and distinct set of capabilities.
Franks has seen companies set up internal processes and organizational features to focus specifically -- and only -- on big data, this approach, unfortunately, is a recipe for trouble and can ultimately have a negative impact on an organization’s bottom line.
Franks joins All Analytics Radio on Friday, Dec. 11, at 1:30 pm EST to discuss how organizations can best structure their big data operations. Be sure to listen as Franks looks at some of the mistakes that organizations need to avoid in 2016, and he shares best practices for integrating big data analytics with the overall analytics structure.
