We talk about also who realistically can stop them? Also, George Karl is being rumored to be fired, but before that Phil Jackson takes out Derek Fisher in New York. Who is next on the hotseat? Also we talk the Summer of Durant and what that means for the rest of the league. Also we have a new Get To Know'em player, 3 strikes, and more.
Please join us for a conversation about Creativity, Community, and Cultural relevance. We will be engaged with two dynamic guests. The first half of our program, we will interview the talented vocalist Ozara Ode. Ozara has started a Gofundme campaign to take her Nina Simone adaptation to Broadway. After reaching much success in Atlanta with the production “In the Key of Nina” during the summer of 2015, Ozara is on a mission to further honor Ms. Simone’s legacy. We will be talking more with Ozara to find out what she is doing and how we can support her.
The dialogue for the second hour will be driven by Pittsburg raptivist, Jasiri X who has been steadily climbing the rungs of the underground ladder worldwide. Jasiri made major noise with his debut single “Free the Jena6”. Tonight he will enlighten us about Black Liberation Theology and share what else he has in store.
We will contemplate the fate of a center that was designed with the spirit of Comrade Tupac Amaru Shakur in mind. Built to be a hub of Creative Community collaboration and cultural education, it has long been shut down and now the building is for sale. We look into ideas about what happened, why, and what we can do differently to insure that similar efforts flourish. Welcome to the Blaq Hour.
This week we kick off the Trivial Warfare Listener's Tournament! This week's show features two first round matchups. The first matchup is our very own Chris Hollister vs Always Listening's Joel Sharpton. Chris is trying to defend the home turf while Joel is trying to avoid being the only person to lose 4 guest appearances. In the second game we have my brother Bob vs. the Sports Gal Pal Ramona Rice. Ramona is determined to have a better showing after her teams collapse in the All Sports Crossover last summer while Bob needs to win to prevent his younger brother (i.e. me) from mocking him mercilessly until the end of his days.

JENNIFER ORN I have lived all over the country. I was born in MN and due to my father’s job (Federal Bureau of Prison’s) we moved around a lot. Virginia, California, Alabama, Pennsylvania and Tennessee are all on the list. When I was approximately 16, we ended up back in MN. I’ve also briefly lived in TX and OK as an adult. I received a softball scholarship out of high school to a DII school in MN. After being there for one semester, I realized it wasn’t for me. So, I enlisted in the MN Air National Guard. After completing AF basic training I completed the AF Security Forces Academy. A few months after completing all of my training I returned to my home station in St. Paul, MN. I was then sent to Desert Warfare Training with others from my unit and ultimately deployed for 6 months to Saudi Arabia. After I returned home, I continued my college education. I received my A.S. in Law enforcement and got hired on with a local police department (WI). I attended the WI State Law Enforcement Academy and I worked at that department for a little over 3 years. I ended up leaving that department to pursue a few other things. I ultimately ended up at another department in central MN. After being at this department for almost 2 years, I decided to resign.I am currently a professional dog trainer and animal behavior specialist. I attended a dog training school in TX and will be starting an internship at a dog training facility in another part of TX. I have already started my LLC (Liberty K9 LLC), and am just waiting to return home to get that going full swing.I have 3 awesome dogs, a wonderful boyfriend.
Jason Granite I am a combat Army Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. This summer I will be braving the Colorado Trail on a backpacking journey to raise money for Nine Line Foundation so they can improve the lives of our Veterans.I’ll be hiking 75 miles with 74 other participants coming from all over the United States
What's the matter with Kansas? "The Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy recently reported that Kansas has the ninth-most unfair tax system in the county. A Kansan earning $47,700 a year pays 9.5 percent of income in state and local taxes; but someone earning $1,191,700 pays an effective rate of just 3.6 percent."
So much for the 'trickle down' libertarian economic theories masterminded by the Wichita plutocrats Charles & David Koch; and implemented by Gov. Sam Brownback and his cronies in the state legislature.
