ENVISION THIS: Humankind shifting toward the ideals of the Sacred Feminine and eco- feminist spirituality will save the world.
In Goddess Calling, Karen Tate shares with her readers, “Inspirational Messages and Meditations of Sacred Feminine Liberation Thealogy.” (No, she has not misspelled “Theology” which suggests that God is male!) Thealogy is a reclamation of humanity’s ancient allegiance to the Feminine Divine.
Virtually all stories of the Goddess come to us obscured and disempowered by thousands of years of patriarchal interpreters. Even many current feminist interpretations are colored by revolt against the patriarchy and desire for “equal” rights to the spoils of domination. How can men and women embrace one another as holy?
How can each of us find the shrouded Feminine Divine, separating truth from myth, and see what a Goddess with equal status with God has to offer humankind as we move toward a holistic future that is more viable, resilient, equitable, and Earth-friendly?
Karen Tate is with us this evening to help us explore this question in its many aspects and implications. For over two decades, Karen's work has been fueled by her intense interest and passion for travel, comparative religions, ancient cultures, and Goddess Spirituality. As editor of Voices of the Sacred Feminine, she gives human voice to the “sacred roar” of the Goddess calling out to today’s humanity.
ENVISION THIS: People from both sides and the concerned world standing up in a war-zone to declare “We refuse to be enemies!”
“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” So says our guests, Sabine Lichtenfels and Sami Awad , whom we are interviewing from the Westbank. 50 Israeli and Palestinian peace workers have set up in the midst of the current fighting. They are putting their lives on the line in support of a peaceful settlement to the violence exploding that has killed more than 700 people with 100 children amongst them.
Due to the extensive bombing of even schools, mosques, hospitals and private homes people can no longer find protection or shelter. Hatred, fear and anger are at a peak in the whole region. In this turbulence, peace workers from Israel, Palestine and other countries are holding a five-day vision camp in the Westbank. In the middle of the war they hold a peace vigil and create a frequency of calmness in which mutual perception, sharing, deep listening, clear thinking and vision building is possible. They say, "Together we can give a clear sign to end the war."
Sabine is founder of the Vision Camp, co-founder of the Peace Research Centre Tamera in Portugal, theologian, and pilgrim in the name of Grace. She initiated the RING OF POWER-A GLOBAL SPIRITUAL NETWORK OF PEACE, a spiritual- political meditation network. Sami Awad is Executive Director of Holy Land Trust.
ENVISION THIS: In the new holistic paradigm that includes medical marijuana, mind-body-spirit health is the biggest priority.
Our guest, Norma Eckroate, is author of The Medical Marijuana Handbook: A Patient’s Guide to Holistic Healing with Cannabis. She writes, “As a cannabis patient myself, I have distilled information in these pages that I found essential in my personal quest to understand the herb, its various forms, and the new options available to patients. I want to answer your questions, soothe your concerns, and give you the information you – or a family member or friend – need to effectively use medical cannabis.”
She speaks and writes about many aspects of the medical use of cannabis including her own experience, self-healing capacity of the body, the chemistry of this “superherb”, various sub-species for energizing or relaxing, balancing the autonomic nervous system, product options, safety, side-effects including psychoactive effects, and legal aspects of medical usage.
Our favorite chapter is her last, How to Deal with the New Normal – Being a Patient Requires Patience. Her guidelines include but are not limited to: let go of victim / martyr energy; remember that you are worthy; let go of the need to JADE -- justify, argue, defend or explain yourself; stop juggling so many balls and decide which priorities really matter; eat a super-nutritious diet; indulge in vitamin P (pleasure) with every meal and snack; treat yourself to more fun and joy.

Welcome to The Turning Point podcast series. Today, we are speaking with Amy Aussieker, Executive Director of Envision Charlotte, about some of the key efforts that have brought to life in Charlotte, NC.
ENVISION THIS: A society where the Golden Rule--both for our neighbors and for our environment--is the guiding principle
Our guest, Daniel Geery, states his guiding philosophy at his candidate website during an unsuccessful run for congress against Orin Hatch in Utah: “Treat your neighbors as you’d want to be treated; help the less fortunate; forgive others; educate youth in a well-rounded curriculum; live in harmony with Nature and within our means; encourage recognition that we are one species on one planet, with many differences but also with the same ultimate fate; push for kindness and fairness as globally accepted norms. Recognize that humanity, not money, is what we are ultimately working for.” Why did he lose? How can he/we win?
Daniel walks his talk…all of it. Come, listen to a true progressive visionary, one who has campaigned on his principles; gotten fired as a tenured, acclaimed teacher for speaking up to authority; written editorials for OpEd news and a coming-of-age novel; lived off the grid; and invented an upward gliding airship. Let’s hear how Daniel Geery visualizes a more humane and resilient culture.
Examples of Youth Culture
The term "youth culture" refers to the ways that teenagers conduct their lives. Youth culture can pertain to interests, styles, behaviors, music, beliefs, vocabulary, clothes, sports and dating. The concept behind youth culture is that adolescents are a subculture with norms, mores, behaviors and values that differ from the main culture of older generations within society.
Commonly-used Youth Culture Examples
· In the 1960's the wearing of clothes that indicated freedom
· Following of music groups that perform music that speaks to the issues teenagers perceive themselves enduring at the time such as Nirvana in the 1990's and The Beatles in the 1960's
· Hairstyles that exhibit a lack of conformity such as brightly colored hair, spiked hair, shaved heads
· Behavior that is contrary to what is perceived to be accepted and expected by parents such as drinking, smoking, using drugs
· Language usage that is bold in order to set themselves apart such as either excessive cursing or a usage of esoteric “cool” buzz words
· Behaviors such as cutting school or low grade criminal activity in order to assert independence and non-conformity

Foreign Culture vs Ancestral Culture Does it matter?
ENVISION THIS: Reconnecting with your most authentic self through sacred sound
Our guest, Todd Glacy, introduces himself eloquently at his website, http://www.sacredsoundandliving.com/about.html.
“My Name is Todd Glacy and my passion and pleasure is helping people reconnect with their truest and most authentic Selves, leading to transformation, healing, and evolution...
I had dedicated my whole life towards the goal of becoming a "successful" professional musician, but one day realized that music had become more like work and a j-o-b and was no longer fun, creative or inspiring in the ways that originally called me to it. I made a decision to stop using music as my means to make a living, and instead began to explore the deeper spiritual/creative musical experiences that had drawn me to this path in the beginning. I began exploring types of music where sound itself became a meditative trance-inducing vehicle which quickly and consistently put me in "The Zone", that space where one loses all sense of ego-self and linear time... Around this same time I also purchased my first large gong, and was immediately struck by the same meditative and trance inducing quality I experienced whenever I played it. I was hooked and have been ever since...
I consider myself fortunate to be involved in the vibrant spiritual, musical and yoga communities which offer so many opportunities for me to share the experience of being in "The Zone" with others...Whether it be through facilitating individual or group workshops, events, or coaching/counseling, each form of spiritual practice and creative expression helps people relax, open up, recreate and reconnect in a place of peace, authenticity and oneness which is mystical, magical and a blessing to be a part of.”
