    The Elightened Ekklesia

    in The Bible

What does it mean to be "enlightened?" To understand what this concept of "spiritual understanding" really means to the believer of the Ekklesia or called out ones, it is first essential that you have a firm grasp on what and who you are in the larger context of the Ekklesia as one who is called out of the ignorance of walking in the fleshly desires of your carnal nature.
Join me as I examine the concept of being "born again" in the sense of regeneration from the vantage point of what the Word of the Living God says, and walk with me as you learn a better Way!

    Ekklesia: Christ Calling

    in Christianity

Who or what is the Ekklesia. We see that the word has been translated into church. When we look at the word closer its meaning is calling out, or called out ones. In Matt. 16:18 we read,"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Is this talking about the Church below or in Heaven?

We will be looking into this word and see how Christ is building his Ekklesia and how this relates to election.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. (Romans8:29)

Jesus said He would build His “church.” The Greek text has ekklesia, a compound of ek (out of) and klesis (a calling).

He is calling sinners out of the world into fellowship with Him. Jesus is building a holy temple, one living stone at a time, stone upon stone, with the apostles and prophets as the foundation and Jesus as the chief cornerstone.

    (Zechariah 6:12, Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 2:20, I Peter 2:4-8)
