“Make Your Own Fuel! Alcohol Fuel Basics What if there were a fuel that was affordable, renewable, and produced right in your own community? If you’d lived 100 years ago, you would have known all about such a fuel. It was called alcohol, and it was a clean-burning fluid generally sold as lamp fuel. Only recently have we taken a renewed look at alcohol fuel — now more commonly known as ethanol — and its potential as a domestically sourced fuel for transportation.

I’m not here to tell you about the agri-industrial agenda to produce ethanol on a massive scale. What I am going to tell you is how to make your own fuel to use in your vehicle or in other gas engines, such as a motorcycle, tiller, or lawn tractor. You can modify these gas engines to run on straight alcohol. If it’s produced on a small-scale, ethanol can be made from grain you grow yourself — or from a wide range of other local and sustainable feedstocks including food waste and crop culls. in Radio

Maple Syrup isn’t just for pancakes. Pure maple syrup enhances the flavor of many foods and is slightly sweeter than cane sugar. It features 54 antioxidants positioning the flavorful syrup among other fruits and vegetables well-known for health benefits. Nate Bissell is the 6th generation owner of Bissell Maple Farm, and his family has been making maple syrup in Ohio since the late 1800's.You thought all maple syrup came from Vermont! Like fine wines, pure maple syrup gets its unique flavor from the geographic region. How do you improve the deliciousness maple syrup? Bissell Maple Farm, in collaboration with Pappy & Company, launched a gourmet product, Pappy & Company Bourbon Barrel-Aged Syrup, at the Summer Fancy Food Show in NY. The product is created by aging Bissell's top-quality Sugarmaker's Reserve™ syrup in rare, 23 year-old Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels. Bissell Maple Farm starts with sap produced at the peak of the maple harvesting season, during a very specific window when the Red Maple and Sugar Maple trees are producing a limited quantity of pristine sap. The Sugarmaker's Reserve™ syrup produced from this sap is then aged 100 days in barrels that have been used for years to distill Pappy Van Winkle bourbon whiskey in Frankfort, KY. Two American traditions, maple syrup and bourbon, become one, and they are perfect together! Try it with cheesecake, creme brulee, meat rubs, cocktails, and marinades. Under Nate’s leadership since 2011, Bissell Maple Farm is a blend of state of-the-art technology and old fashioned ingenuity. ROAD MAP 4 SEEKER'S with Guest Fu-Ding Cheng

    in Spirituality

Fu-Ding Cheng––visionary filmmaker and shamanic artist–– began his career as a practicing architect, but has since focused his attention on books, films, and spirituality. In 1990, he founded Liquid Light Productions devoted to explore paths of self-illumination and mystical adventures through books, films, art and seminars.

His multi-faceted artistic career includes a prize-winning series of films, “Zen-Tales for the Urban Explorer” presented as a special retrospective at the Hammer Museum; album covers (Heart’s Dog and Butterfly); and a children’s book, Dream-House. While teaching film directing at the North Carolina School of the Arts, he created a groundbreaking new curriculum, "Shamanic Tools for the Filmmaker."

Furthermore, Fu-Ding has extensive teaching experience as an instructor at the UCLA School of Design, the Barnesdall Municipal Art Gallery in Los Angeles, and the North Carolina School of the Arts.

However, first priority over all vocational activities has been his life-long devotion to the spiritual quest, which led him to journeys East (meditation in the Himalayas, Chinese Kung-Fu), and to journeys West (spiritual-psychology, Meso-American shamanic practice). In 1995, in a breakthrough ritual with teacher/shaman, don Miguel Ruiz (The Four Agreements), he “Jumped to the Sun” and woke up from the dream of the planet.

Since then, through artwork and seminars, he has been inspired to distill the highest wisdoms into practical pathways to personal freedom for everyone. One result: Map of Desire, a Blueprint for Self-Fulfillment.

    in News

The “featured” BlogTalkRadio program, “Westchester On the Level with Narog and Aris”, opens the Thursday, February 26th broadcast day at 10:00 a.m. with a half-hour summation of international news and at 10:30am Host Hezi Aris pivots to Mount Vernon City Councilman Richard Thomas.

At the top of the second hour, from 11am to 12Noon, we are joined by Blue Ridge Press Editor Glenn Scherer whose focus is environmental news despite its diminished coverage in major media, including TV, major newspapers, and even the Internet. We’ll explore past scientific integrity and the recent uncertainty that has caused a lack of trust in reporting.  Editor Glenn Scherer’s demeanor and the milieu he has created will also be explored to gain insight to the challenges presented to a nation of curious to glean the facts yet are lost in not knowing to whom to turn. Exploring the aforementioned will lead us to the concerns of fracking, climate change, clean water, habitat  preservation, and the political insinuation into the vast subject matter.

We’ll learn how language is used in inflaming emotions and juxtaposed that report facts with gravitas; and how to distill the differences.

We’ll explore the diminution of coverage of the environment and whether there is a market of people who want to learn more or if science delving into environmental concerns are no longer trusted? and if so, why?

Lastly, we learn the modality Blue Ridge Press incorporates to reach readers interested in environmental issues / concerns.

Your participation is shamelessly solicited; share your perspective; ask a question, be heard! Place your call to (347) 205-9201. You are only asked to please stay on topic.
